Renee Paquette sees Mick Foley as a perfect fit for AEW.
At the Double or Nothing, Mick Foley made his AEW debut, hosting the Buy In alongside Renee Paquette. Before the show, Foley said he was “extremely happy” to be joining the promotion, and even though he was on the receiving end of a low blow from MJF at the event, he reiterated his happiness afterwards.
Paquette is also pleased to see her friend becoming All Elite and said on Busted Open that he fits the company’s vibe.
“It was so exciting. I had no idea that that was gonna be happening. Of course, I’ve known Mick (Foley) for such a long time. So to be able to work with him in this capacity… Any time you get to have someone of that legendary status come on, shed some light.
“Mick is such a fan of professional wrestling. So to have him be a part of AEW now, it just feels like such a perfect mix. I feel like he’s somebody that just fits in with the entire vibe and essence that is All Elite Wrestling.”
Why Did Mick Foley Leave WWE?
Although he wrestled in WCW, ECW, and TNA, Mick Foley is likely best known for his time in WWE, where he is a three-time World Champion and Hall of Fame inductee. However, Foley walked away from WWE in December, citing the promotion’s close ties to US President and fellow WWE Hall of Famer Donald Trump. The last straw for Foley was Trump’s “disgusting” response to the death of Hollywood legend Rob Reiner.
When leaving WWE, he announced that he doesn’t want to represent a company that “coddles a man so seemingly void of compassion,” and decided against renewing his Legends contract earlier in 2026.
