Oba Femi picked up a decisive victory over Grayson Waller on the April 27 episode of WWE Raw.
Oba Femi controlled the match from the opening bell, overwhelming Waller with power offence before finishing him with the Fall From Grace powerbomb for a quick pinfall win.
After the match, Femi announced he will begin issuing weekly open challenges on Raw, introducing what he called “The Oba Challenge” and inviting any superstar to step up.
The move continues Femi’s momentum following his breakout victory over Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 42 Night Two. He had already signalled his arrival on last week’s Raw with a short message to the crowd, declaring: “Your ruler has arrived.”
Oba Femi’s Dominant NXT Run Before WWE Main Roster Debut
Oba Femi signed with WWE’s Next In Line program in 2021 after participating in a tryout. He made his on-screen debut on the November 18, 2022, episode of NXT Level Up, losing his debut match to Dante Chen before he made his proper NXT debut on April 25, 2023, on the Spring Breakin’ special episode, where he defeated Oro Mensah.
Femi then went on an unbeaten run as he competed in and won the NXT Breakout Tournament, and then won his first title by defeating Dragon Lee on the January 9, 2024, episode of NXT in just over a minute for the NXT North American Title.
Femi would defend the title successfully 10 times before he suffered his first NXT TV defeat to Tony D’Angelo on the October 8, 2024, episode, dropping the NXT North American Championship.
Femi would then be pushed into the NXT Championship picture, and won the belt by defeating Eddy Thorpe and Trick Williams in a Triple Threat at NXT New Year’s Evil on January 7, 2025, and he would hold the title for just short of a year before vacating it following his win over Leon Slater on the 2026 edition of NXT New Year’s Evil on January 6, 2026. Femi then made his main roster debut in the 2026 Royal Rumble on January 31 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
