Colby Corino, the son of the legendary Steve Corino, recently went into the hospital for emergency surgery on his neck and spine.
He recently went on to social media platforms like Facebook, “X” (formerly known as Twitter), among other areas, to share his story and what has befallen him:
“I’m sorry to everyone who has worried about me these past few days. I went to the hospital on Thursday night and was told I needed emergency surgery on my neck and back. I never thought something like this would ever happen. I’m still processing everything, but I will be okay.
I don’t know if I’ll be in a wrestling ring anytime soon, but at this point, I just want to be able to pick up my son again. I’m not looking forward to this long road of recovery, but I pray that my family and I make it through it.
I ask that you respect me and my family’s privacy for now, and not taking it personally if I do not get back to you. I appreciate everyone who’s reached out and love you all.”
Recently, Corino was featured alongside former TNA/ECW wrestler Rhino and NWA Heavyweight Champion, Thom Latimer, at the 2025 Crockett Cup this past May in the main event for the Ten Pounds of Gold. That match has yet to air and will be shown at a later date on NWA POWERRR on The Roku Channel.
Currently, a GoFundMe has been set up to help him cover any bills during his absence from the squared circle. Organized by local wrestler Sean Henderson, he wrote, “I’ve been very lucky to know Colby Corino for about 6 years now and can say he’s an amazing person, father, husband, wrestler, and has helped so many others he’s encountered in and out of the ring.”
The goal of the GoFundMe is to reach USD 20,000, and as of this writing, the fund has reached $11,850. Notable contributors included Aron Stevens, Matt Cardona, and the top contributor on the site is Golden Globe actor Paul Walter Hauser, with $1000.
