Nick Khan has addressed WWE’s plans for upcoming events in Saudi Arabia, stressing that safety remains the key factor.
Speaking during a company town hall, courtesy of POST Wrestling, WWE President Nick Khan confirmed that WWE is continuing to monitor the situation closely ahead of its scheduled return to the region.
“We’re only going if it’s safe or if we’re allowed there,”
Khan said, noting the company is working with internal security teams and external government affairs advisers.
“If U.S. citizens are allowed in at this moment in time, it is declared and deemed safe, we’ll all be going there.”
WWE Still Planning Night Of Champions In Saudi Arabia Despite Ongoing Middle East Tensions
The comments come as WWE prepares to stage Night of Champions in Riyadh this June, despite ongoing tensions in the region. Khan added that Saudi Arabia remains eager to host major WWE events, particularly those originating from the United States.
While the premium live event is currently set to go ahead, WWE will not be holding episodes of SmackDown or Raw in the country during the trip, marking a change from recent scheduling.
