AEW confirmed the complete lineups for the upcoming 12-man steel cage match set for AEW Forbidden Door between Mark Briscoe‘s team and MJF‘s team during Wednesday night’s AEW Dynamite episode.
The rival squads were unveiled throughout the broadcast before colliding in the evening’s main event, offering fans a preview of the high-stakes encounter scheduled for June 28 at the SAP Center in San Jose, California.
MJF opened last night’s Dynamite alongside Don Callis and members of the Don Callis Family, revealing that Kazuchika Okada, Kyle Fletcher, Kevin Knight, Jake Doyle, and Andrade El Idolo would join him inside the cage. The announcement appeared to catch Andrade by surprise, though he ultimately aligned with the group later that night.
Briscoe’s side was completed later in the broadcast. Joining the former ROH World Champion will be Roderick Strong, Kyle O’Reilly, Orange Cassidy, AEW International Champion Konosuke Takeshita, and Darby Allin.
Team MJF & Team Mark Briscoe Collided In The Main Event Of AEW Dynamite
The two teams met in a 12-man tag team match in Dynamite’s main event. The bout featured several signs of tension within the Don Callis Family, particularly between Andrade and MJF, but the group ultimately secured the victory.
The finish came after Don Callis distracted the referee, preventing Mark Briscoe from pinning MJF following a J-Driller. Moments later, MJF trapped Roderick Strong in the Salt of the Earth armbar and forced him to submit.
After the match, MJF and the Don Callis Family continued their assault on the opposing team. Andrade initially appeared reluctant to participate in the post-match beatdown, but eventually helped MJF target Briscoe as the heels stood tall to close the show.
The steel cage match is one of several marquee bouts already announced for Forbidden Door. The card will also feature Will Ospreay facing Swerve Strickland in the men’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament final, Kenny Omega taking on Zack Sabre Jr., and Jon Moxley defending the AEW Continental Championship against Bandido.
AEW Women’s World Champion Thekla is also set to defend her title against Starlight Kid, while Adam Copeland and Christian Cage will put the AEW World Tag Team Championship on the line against David Finlay and Clark Connors of The Dogs.
