Darby Allin and MJF are officially set to collide in a Title vs. Hair Match at AEW Double or Nothing next weekend.
The match became official during Wednesday night’s episode of AEW Dynamite following Darby Allin’s successful defence of the AEW World Championship against Konosuke Takeshita in the main event.
After the match, MJF came to the ring for the contract signing but initially hesitated before eventually agreeing to the stipulation.
Once the contract was signed, MJF immediately turned his attention toward verbally attacking Allin and downplaying his accomplishments as champion. Allin responded by mocking MJF’s obsession with legacy and demanding he prepare to become a “bald-headed b****” at Double or Nothing.
The confrontation quickly turned physical as MJF dropped Allin with the Dynamite Diamond Ring before nearly delivering a second rope Tombstone Piledriver to the champion. Kevin Knight eventually sprinted to the ring to make the save, forcing MJF to retreat.
The stipulation stems from comments Allin made last week, where he stated the only way MJF would receive another AEW World Championship opportunity was if he put up something truly important to him, his hair.
Earlier in Dynamite, commentary also noted that Allin would never grant MJF another title shot if he refused to agree to the stipulation.
Darby Allin Defeated MJF In Shock Dynamite Match To Win AEW World Title
The match will serve as a rematch from last month when Darby Allin shocked MJF in Everett, Washington, to capture the AEW World Championship in MJF’s hometown. Since then, Allin has already recorded five successful title defences, while MJF has repeatedly pushed for another opportunity at the championship.
At Double or Nothing, MJF will attempt to become a three-time AEW World Champion while risking one of his trademark features in the process.
