AEW Dynamite continued to build toward AEW Double or Nothing with several major confrontations, tournament announcements, and championship developments on Wednesday night.
The show opened with a chaotic ten-man tag team match as Adam Copeland, Christian Cage, Orange Cassidy and The Young Bucks defeated FTR, The Dogs and Tommaso Ciampa. The match broke down into a wild brawl throughout the ringside before Copeland pinned Clark Connors following a spear.
A new video package also aired showing Will Ospreay continuing his intense training sessions with The Death Riders.
Mike Bailey picked up a quick win over Westbrook before Kevin Knight successfully retained the TNT Championship against Brian Cage. Knight survived interference from Lance Archer and eventually secured the victory with a UFO Splash off the top rope.
Following the match, Bailey praised Knight and predicted he would one day become AEW World Champion before declaring that he wanted the next shot at the title himself.
Commentary then officially revealed the brackets for both the men’s and women’s 2026 Owen Hart Foundation Cup tournaments. The men’s bracket includes Samoa Joe vs. Will Ospreay, Swerve Strickland vs. Bandido, Brody King vs. Claudio Castagnoli and Jack Perry vs. Mark Davis. The women’s side features Willow Nightingale vs. Alex Windsor, Athena vs. Mina Shirakawa, Persephone vs. Hazuki and Skye Blue vs. Sareee.
Ospreay later defeated Ace Austin in a competitive singles match after forcing Austin to tap out to a Fujiwara Armbar following Hidden Blade.
After the bout, Samoa Joe confronted Ospreay alongside Katsuyori Shibata and Anthony Bowens ahead of their Owen Hart tournament clash at Double or Nothing. The situation escalated before The Death Riders arrived to back up Ospreay, forcing Joe’s group to retreat.
Backstage, MJFhanded his Dynamite Diamond Ring to Don Callis and admitted he could not risk going bald ahead of his upcoming Title vs. Hair Match against Darby Allin.
In women’s division action, Hikaru Shida, Alex Windsor and Jamie Hayter defeated Julia Hart, Skye Blue and Thekla via disqualification after Thekla attacked Hayter with the AEW Women’s World Championship belt. Triangle Of Madness continued assaulting Hayter and Windsor after the bell before Willow Nightingale, Mina Shirakawa and Thunder Rosa ran down to make the save.
The main event saw Allin retain the AEW World Championship against Konosuke Takeshita in a physical match. Takeshita refused to use MJF’s Dynamite Diamond Ring when Don Callis attempted to hand it to him during the bout, allowing Allin to recover and eventually win with two Coffin Drops.
After the match, Allin called MJF to the ring for the official contract signing for their Title vs. Hair Match at Double or Nothing. MJF insulted Allin’s title reign before finally signing the contract and immediately attacking the champion with the Dynamite Diamond Ring. MJF stood tall holding the AEW World Championship before Kevin Knight ran down to save Allin as Dynamite went off the air.
