A new report suggests Mick Foley is seriously considering stepping back into the ring for one final match.
According to WrestleVotes Radio and Fightful Select, sources within AEW believe Mick Foley has already decided to wrestle again, with any potential comeback expected to take place under the AEW banner.
The report also noted that AEW President Tony Khan would reportedly be eager to book Foley if the WWE Hall of Famer is medically cleared to compete.
Mick Foley Has Spoken About The Possibility Of Wrestling Again In AEW
The update comes just days after Mick Foley addressed the possibility of wrestling again during an appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show.
While the 60-year-old admitted the idea has crossed his mind, he stressed that any return would need to happen under the right circumstances and would have to prioritise his long-term health.
“I think that clearly if I had a match, it would have to be a match that would avoid trauma to the head,” Foley said. “Luckily, there’s a whole lot of me to traumatise below the neck.”
Foley added that he still believes he has one more good match left in him, but only if the situation makes sense.
“I think I have one last good match in me. I just believe all the stars would have to align. It would have to make sense.”
The hardcore wrestling legend has been more visible in AEW in recent weeks following the announcement that he has signed a new agreement with the company. Foley recently made his AEW debut as part of the Double or Nothing weekend festivities and has stated that he sees himself contributing in a variety of roles, including as a broadcaster, manager, and mentor.
Any in-ring return would mark Foley’s first match in several years and would undoubtedly be one of the most talked-about moments in AEW.
