The family of former WWE star Marty Jannetty has publicly addressed his recent foot amputation following widespread online speculation surrounding his health.
News of Marty Jannetty’s condition first surfaced after former wrestler Eddy Mansfield discussed the situation during an appearance on the Monte & The Pharaoh podcast. Shortly afterwards, a photo of Jannetty in a wheelchair, with his foot heavily wrapped, began circulating online.
Now, Jannetty’s wife, Addie Jannetty, has released an official statement on behalf of the family, confirming the photo’s legitimacy and providing details about his condition. According to the statement, Jannetty recently underwent a below-the-knee amputation after doctors discovered infected bone in his foot. The family confirmed the procedure took place on April 1, 2026, and stated that the surgery was successful.
“The surgery went as expected,” the statement noted, adding that Jannetty is now focused on recovery, pain management and rehabilitation. The family also stressed that they had originally hoped to keep Jannetty’s medical situation private before the story spread publicly online. They also asked fans and media outlets to respect the family’s privacy while Jannetty continues to recover.
Marty Jannetty’s WWE Career
Marty Jannetty is best known for his legendary tag-team run alongside Shawn Michaels as part of The Rockers in the WWE in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Despite the tag team’s popularity, they never officially captured the WWE Tag Team Championship during their run. However, Jannetty did capture the tag title with the 1-2-3 Kid, better known to fans as X-Pac, on the January 10, 1994, episode of Raw.
Jannetty also captured the Intercontinental Championship from his former tag partner Shawn Michaels on the May 17, 1993, episode of Raw, but lost the title back to Michaels in an untelevised match in June that same year.
