Logan Paul believes putting the PRIME logo in the centre of the WWE ring was his greatest marketing move, arguing that the backlash from wrestling fans only made the sponsorship more effective.
Speaking with Patrick Bet-David in a clip shared by the PBD Podcast, Logan Paul acknowledged that many longtime WWE fans disliked seeing the PRIME branding prominently displayed on the ring canvas. However, Paul believes the negative reaction worked perfectly with his role as a heel.
“By the way, the fans hated, they hated that I stamped the middle of the mat with my logo,” Paul said. “But that works in the WWE, I’m supposed to do stuff you don’t like, and if you do stuff that people don’t like well enough, they’ll like you.”
Logan Paul Says WWE Fan Backlash Helped PRIME Sponsorship
WWE announced PRIME as the first centre-ring sponsor in company history in March 2024, with the company’s logo appearing on the canvas at Premium Live Events beginning with WrestleMania 40.
At the time, WWE described its partnership with PRIME as the largest sponsorship deal in company history. The decision sparked a strong reaction from wrestling fans, including memes placing the PRIME logo over images from famous moments in WWE history.
Logan Paul embraced that reaction from the beginning. Speaking on Impaulsive shortly after the sponsorship was announced, he suggested the branding gave fans an opportunity to dislike him even more because of his heel character.
The PRIME branding has since remained a prominent feature of WWE events, although Paul has admitted it can also cause problems for wrestlers. Earlier this year, Paul claimed sponsorship logos on the canvas become slippery as events progress, making it harder for him to maintain his footing and reach full speed in the ring.
Paul is currently sidelined after suffering a torn triceps during a World Tag Team Championship defence alongside Austin Theory at Saturday Night’s Main Event on May 23. He underwent surgery following the injury and was initially given a six-month recovery timetable.
