WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has confirmed he is set to undergo surgery in August as he continues his recovery from ongoing health issues.
Speaking on the latest episode of Grilling JR, Jim Ross revealed the procedure has now been scheduled, although he did not disclose the exact date. The surgery is expected to address a buildup of fluid in his brain, which doctors believe is responsible for the memory and balance issues he has experienced in recent months.
“Yeah, that’s it. I’ll be ready to go,” Ross said when asked about the upcoming operation.
Ross spent more than a month in the hospital before recently returning home and said he has continued to make progress during his recovery.
“Great. I’m just getting better every day,” Ross said. “My balance is still a little screwed up, but it’s getting better. So, you know, I’m just happy that I’m alive and I’m happy that I’ve been diagnosed correctly, I think. So let’s get it on.”
The legendary commentator is expected to spend a short period in hospital following the procedure before returning home to continue his rehabilitation.
Jim Ross Still Scheduled For Appearances Despite Scheduling Brain Surgery
Jim Ross is still scheduled to appear at WrestleCon in Minneapolis from July 31 to August 2, although his appearance is contingent on his health and upcoming surgery. His current AEW contract is also due to expire in August, with no update yet on whether the two sides will agree to a new deal.
Ross last appeared for AEW at Double or Nothing on May 24, where he called the AEW Continental Title match between Jon Moxley and Kyle O’Reilly.
