CM Punk has seemingly answered Obi Femi’s challenge.
At the pre-show Femi said: “There are some people who say they are the best on this microphone, in that ring, even at commentary. You want to drop pipebombs and all that stuff but understand one thing: Your bombs don’t work when it comes to Oba Femi. You are gifted on this mic and so am I.”
During the WWE SummerSlampost-show, the Undisputed WWE Champion polled the audience on who he should fight next. He defeated challenge Cody Rhodes…with a little help from a returning Randy Orton…last night. Oba’s name was shouted by the audience and Punk responded directly to Femi’s statement.
“Oba? If you want Oba, I want Oba. Listen, Oba Femi is without a doubt the future but that doesn’t mean I’m not the present. Be careful what you try to open underneath the Christmas tree. You may not like what you get. Oba is fantastic. My experience trumps his ability,” said Punk. “Oba hasn’t picked what champion to go after. If he wants to wallow in obscurity go after Roman. If he wants to live under the bright lights come after the real champ.”
Oba surrendered his guaranteed world title opportunity after winning King of the Ring to fight Lesnar at SummerSlam.
