A WWE Hall of Famer wants to see Kenny Omega and Will Ospreay in the company.
In the main event of All In London, Will Ospreay defeated Kenny Omega to capture the AEW World Championship for the first time in an instant classic. With their singles record now at 2-2, Ospreay told Omega he would be willing to face him again anytime to settle things once and for all. If Kurt Angle got his way, that match would happen in WWE.
During an appearance on The GTV Network, the WWE Hall of Famer was asked if he would want to trade Will Ospreay or Kenny Omega to the promotion. Angle has long been a vocal fan of Omega, and said he would “love” to see the Best Bout Machine find success there.
“Listen, well, those two can go. Those two are just unbelievable. I’m a huge Kenny Omega fan, and if there’s anybody today that I wanted to wrestle, it would be him. I have a lot of respect for him. I think that he is one of the best workers in the world right now and I’d love to see him come to WWE. I think he could do really well there.”
Angle also sees Ospreay as an “incredible” wrestler, and thinks he could make the jump too.
“Will Ospreay too, man. He’s incredible, he’s had so many incredible matches. He’s just consistently, he might have the, the most four or five star matches out of anybody. He’s that good.”
Will Ospreay Reveals Key To His Success
In a recent interview, Will Ospreay reflected on his journey to the top in pro wrestling. The newly crowned AEW World Champion admitted that there was a lot of good timing in his career, as he started on the UK indies and then moved to NJPW just as top stars were leaving to sign with WWE, leaving him with big opportunities to make his mark.
However, he believes he wouldn’t have been able to take advantage of those opportunities if he hadn’t been out wrestling every weekend despite earning very little to do it. The star says it has never been about money for him, and he has found success through his passion for the business.
