Kairi Sane has officially become a free agent following the expiration of her WWE non-compete clause, teasing that fans will be seeing her again soon.
The former WWE star shared a photo of herself standing beside a motorcycle on social media, accompanied by a brief message that hinted at her next chapter.
“How Far I’ll Go… See you soon.”
Kairi Sane was among the approximately 25 WWE stars released in April following WrestleMania. Others included Aleister Black, Thea Trinidad, Nikki Cross, Dexter Lumis, Santos Escobar and the Motor City Machine Guns, all of whom have now reached free agency following the expiry of their 90-day non-compete clauses.
Her departure came as a surprise to many. Shortly after the releases, Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Sane had been involved in a planned storyline centred around standing up to Asuka before reuniting with Iyo Sky, although the angle was ultimately dropped. The report added that WWE believed Sane was interested in eventually returning to Japan, which factored into the company’s decision.
The 37-year-old has yet to announce where she plans to wrestle next.
Kairi Sane’s Wrestling Career
Kairi Sane first joined WWE after winning the inaugural Mae Young Classic in 2017. She went on to capture the NXT Women’s Championship and, alongside Asuka as The Kabuki Warriors, became a two-time WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion. Prior to signing with WWE, Sane established herself as one of Stardom’s biggest stars, winning the World of Stardom Championship.
