A former WWE star is back in the ring more than three years after competing in her last wrestling match.
Former WWE star Lacey Evans appears to be taking steps towards a potential return to the ring after more than three years away from wrestling. Evans, who now goes by her real name Macey Estrella, previously announced in April that she was planning to wrestle again. However, the former WWE star did not provide any further details about when or where a return could take place.
She has now offered another indication that an in-ring comeback could be approaching. Evans shared footage on Instagram on Sunday showing herself training inside the ring at D-Von Dudley’s wrestling school. The 36-year-old also joked about the difficulties of returning to training after such a lengthy absence, admitting that she was already “blown up” five minutes after getting into the ring.
Former WWE Star Lacey Evans Steps Up Training For Wrestling Return
Lacey Evans has not competed since leaving WWE in 2023. Her final match for the company took place at the July 7, 2023, SmackDown taping, where she lost to Zelina Vega in a dark match.
Evans initially signed with WWE in 2016 before adopting her Sassy Southern Belle character the following year. She also competed in the inaugural Mae Young Classic in 2017 before eventually moving to the main roster.
Although Evans never captured a championship during her WWE career, she challenged for several titles and won the 2020 Slammy Award for Female Trash Talker of the Year. No date or promotion has been announced for Evans’ potential return, but her latest training footage comes several months after she publicly confirmed her intention to wrestle again.
