A former WWE champion has shared an update about their recovery after going through a below-the-knee leg amputation.
Former WWE Intercontinental Champion Marty Jannetty has shared a positive update on his recovery following the below-the-knee amputation he underwent earlier this year. The former Rockers member took to Facebook to post a photograph of himself standing on a prosthetic leg during a rehabilitation session while thanking those who have supported him throughout the difficult process.
Jannetty specifically praised Brian Blair and the Cauliflower Alley Club for helping him during his recovery, crediting the organisation with getting him through one of the toughest periods of his life.
“They’ve showed me quite a lot of love and compassion for my situation. Without their help, I don’t think I would’ve gotten through this very tough time in my life,” Jannetty wrote.
He also noted that “insurance only covers so much” and said he would gladly support the Cauliflower Alley Club in the future if given the opportunity.
The Cauliflower Alley Club is a non-profit organisation that provides financial assistance and other support to wrestlers in need. Blair, best known as one-half of The Killer Bees during his WWF career, currently serves as the group’s president.
Jannetty is best remembered for his time alongside Shawn Michaels as one-half of The Rockers. The duo captured the AWA World Tag Team Championship twice before joining the WWE in 1988 and becoming one of the company’s most popular tag teams. Following their memorable split during the Barbershop segment in 1992, Jannetty went on to win the WWE Intercontinental Championship from Michaels in 1993 and later captured the WWE Tag Team Championship alongside the 1-2-3 Kid in 1994.
When & Why Did Former WWE Star Marty Jannetty Undergo His Amputation?
Marty Jannetty, 66, underwent a below-the-knee amputation on April 1, 2026. His family confirmed the operation in May, explaining that surgeon Dr. Leland McCluskey successfully removed all infected bone and that Jannetty’s focus had turned towards rehabilitation, pain management and his long-term recovery.
The procedure followed several years of complications involving Jannetty’s leg and ankle. After undergoing ankle reconstruction surgery in 2020, he suffered multiple setbacks, including a staph infection following further procedures. In January 2024, Jannetty revealed that doctors had informed him his leg would eventually require amputation.
