Ethan Page says he couldn’t enjoy the journey to his WWE Intercontinental Championship victory.
On the November 2nd edition of Raw, Ethan Page defeated Chad Gable to win the WWE Intercontinental Championship. The title is Page’s first on the main roster of WWE, although he has previously held the NXT and North American Championships.
Speaking in character on WWE Now, Page said he achieved his main roster goal so quickly, that he needs to reassess what he wants to accomplish.
“Look, I feel weird, mostly because this is the ultimate goal, and now that I’ve achieved it so early and so quickly, it’s skewed… I guess, my view of the future. I don’t know why I thought it would be so hard to obtain this, and then it happened so fast that I feel like I should reassess my goals. Which happens to me a lot in my life, and I think that’s why I feel nothing. Because I know it’s just, like, I’m gonna do something great again, I’m sure.”
Ethan Page “Extremely Sad” He Couldn’t Watch Himself Win WWE Intercontinental Title
Continuing, Ethan Page expressed his disappointment that he couldn’t enjoy his journey to winning the gold, as he is “the one dragging the cart.”
“I just did an interview with Jackie [Redmond], I gave her my thoughts, and I had said that it was extremely sad that I never got to witness myself actually win the Intercontinental Championship and I think that actually is the precipice of everything is I don’t actually get to enjoy the journey. I’m the one dragging the cart behind me, kind of thing.”
