Cody Rhodes wants to flex his acting muscle.
Over the years, Cody Rhodes has appeared in multiple TV shows, most prominently as the recurring character Derek Sampson in The CW series Arrow back in 2016. In 2025, he made the move to the big screen with a cameo as a bartender in The Naked Gun, and this year he has taken on his biggest role yet as Guile in Street Fighter.
During an interview with ExtraTV to promote Street Fighter, Rhodes was asked if fans would see more of him in movies. The American Nightmare responded by revealing that more announcements would be coming this year, saying he’s caught the acting bug.
“I think you will, and I think this is going to be a good year for announcements and a good year for doing more. I’d hope to stay Guile forever, but the bug, and I’ve been talking about this while I was on set, Noah Centineo screened Union County for me, and I was blown away by the depth they were going, the questions they were asking, and I’d love to take a swing, take a challenge, because without films and things like this, I’m not going to get any good at it. So I want to flex that muscle.”
When Will Cody Rhodes Retire From Pro Wrestling?
Cody Rhodes taking an interest in more roles outside WWE raises the question of how long he plans to continue competing in the ring. In a recent interview, Rhodes said he’s not going to be “falling down for a living anymore” when his daughter is 11 years old.
Cody Rhodes and Brandi Rhodes’ first daughter, Liberty, was born in 2021, meaning Rhodes is looking at retiring before 2032. This ties into his recent announcement that he has signed a new contract with WWE, and plans to end his wrestling career in the company.
