Cody Rhodes says one of the stars of AEW has “incredible strength.”
During his career, Cody Rhodes has worked with a lot of stars who could throw him around the ring with ease. In an interview on the Double Coverage Podcast, The American Nightmare has named some of the strongest men he has been in the ring with.
“It’s an easy one because it’s going to be a combination. Mark Henry had kind of the reserve strength. The World’s Strongest Man was the World’s Strongest Man. He goes to the [Arnold Strongman Classic 2002], wins the World’s Strongest Man. Drug-free.
“When he was Mark Henry later, Hall of Pain, all that, he wasn’t doing that type of lifting anymore, but it was reserved. I always said it’s reserved because he’d do stuff every now and then where he’d kind of move with those bear paws in a way that he’d remind you of his strength. So Mark is going to be on there.
“We mentioned Big Show earlier. Big Show [Paul Wight] got upset with me one night and he hit me on the chin and it may be the only time I ever went out, and I came back quick. He also shoved me. I mean, Big Show had reserve strength. Those two for sure.”
Continuing, Rhodes also named Cesaro – now AEW’s Claudio Castagnoli – as someone with “unbelievable” strength
“Big E was breaking records at every gym across the country when he’d go into it. Big E was an anomaly, unbelievable. Cesaro, unbelievable strength. Obviously, Cena’s up there in the strength category. I think Bron Breakker is like that now, and then you mentioned Brock.”
“His Speed Is Genuinely Terrifying” – Cody Rhodes On Brock Lesnar
Beyond his strength, Cody Rhodes highlighted Brock Lesnar‘s speed. With all of the tools at his disposal, Rhodes says the Beast Incarnate was truly a unicorn.
“I think the thing people forget about Brock, and if you watched him at UFC, you knew this about Brock. It wasn’t the fact that this giant, hulking, fearsome looking individual was coming after you. It was how fast he was. His speed is genuinely terrifying from a performative standpoint. He just was one of one, unicorn. All those tools, they were meant to take him where they took him.”
While he won’t get another match with the now-retired Brock Lesnar, in a recent interview, Cody Rhodes hinted that he still has an eye on a match with The Rock.
