Bronson Reed says he was “asserting dominance” when he controversially put his foot on Oba Femi on Raw.
On the September 7th edition of Raw, the recently returned Bronson Reed and the rest of The Vision carried out a brutal beatdown of Oba Femi that left the Ruler lying flat on his face. Reed took the opportunity to put his foot on Femi’s back, only for him to quickly push the Top Dog away.
Following the show, it was reported that the moment was unscripted and was poorly received backstage.
In a new interview with The West Sport, Reed was asked why he did it, and the Australian Star answered in character, saying he is “always going to assert dominance.”
“Oh, I think you got to remember I am the top dog. I’m always going to assert dominance and that’s what I would try to do, and he’s very much the same. That’s why he obviously hit my foot off.
“So if people have speculation about these things, then go for it. Speculate. But of course, both of us want to be number one, and we’re going to do whatever it takes to be number one.”
Bronson Reed Believes He Is “More Dangerous” Than Brock Lesnar
Bronson Reed went on to compare his rivalry with Oba Femi to the Ruler’s trilogy of matches against Brock Lesnar. Reed said that while those matches were “incredible,” he thinks he can bring a different dynamic to the Beast Incarnate.
“I think it’s very exciting. I also think that we’ve seen Oba Femi in the matches with Brock Lesnar, which have been incredible. When you have these two massive guys hitting each other and doing some crazy stuff.
“But I still think I bring a different dynamic to what Brock Lesnar does, where I’m a little bit more dangerous. I’m a little bit more gritty. I’m a bit more on the edge where you’re going to see some different things that you didn’t see in those matches. I’m going to push Oba Femi to his limits.”
