Becky Lynch says that wrestling in front of 100,000 fans at WrestleMania 32 was too overwhelming.
Long before becoming The Man, Becky Lynch made her WrestleMania debut in Arlington, Texas, where she took on Charlotte Flair and Sasha Banks in a Triple Threat match to determine the inaugural WWE Women’s Champion.
While Lynch was unsuccessful in the match, which was won by Flair, she still remembers the feeling of entering the AT&T Stadium in front of 100,000 fans. Speaking to Nina Drama at a Zuffa Boxing event, Lynch recalled the experience “too overwhelming” at the time, although now WWE draws crowds of the same size more regularly.
“The most I’ve wrestled in front of was in Dallas, in Texas. But it was over 100,000. 100,000 people, that was my first WrestleMania. Which was 10 years ago. WrestleMania 32, and I walked out there and I’d never been in front of… I don’t think I’ve ever been in a stadium before filled with people. It was too overwhelming for me the first time. Now we do it like several times a year and it’s like nothing. It’s awesome.”
Lynch went on to explain that it was the equivalent of wrestling in front of the entire population of Ireland’s second-biggest city, Cork.
“The second biggest city in Ireland. Now you’re not gonna believe me, but it’s Cork. So the population, well, when I was growing up, was 100,000, you know, of the second biggest city in Ireland. So when I went down in front of 100,000 people, I was like, ‘oh, yeah’”
Becky Lynch Returned To WWE on Raw
After a two-month absence, Becky Lynch made her WWE return on the August 3rd edition of Raw. The star came out to confront Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan, telling her that she’s had the “worst World Title reign of all time.” During the same segment, Stephanie Vaquer also made her comeback, attacking Morgan while Lynch looked on. The pair then came face-to-face in the middle of the ring, teasing a future confrontation.
