Last night’s episode of WWE Raw saw the return of two former world champions in the same segment.
Becky Lynch returned to WWE television on Monday’s episode of Raw and wasted little time identifying Liv Morgan and the Women’s World Championship as her next targets. Lynch appeared following the match between Sol Ruca and Roxanne Perez, which ended in disqualification after Morgan interfered by tripping Ruca on the ropes. Judgment Day continued attacking Ruca after the bell before Lynch’s music hit and she made her way to the ring.
Raquel Rodriguez initially believed Lynch had returned to pursue the Women’s Intercontinental Championship. Rodriguez captured the title on July 27, while Lynch previously made history as its inaugural champion before losing it to Ruca at Clash in Italy in May.
However, Lynch made it clear she had already accomplished what she wanted with that championship and instead turned her attention towards Morgan.
The former Women’s World Champion criticised Morgan’s current reign, calling it the worst of all time and promising to make sure she did not go another 100 days without defending the championship on television.
Morgan captured the Women’s World Championship from Stephanie Vaquer at WrestleMania 42 in April but did not make her first televised defence until SummerSlam, where she successfully retained against Iyo Sky.
Morgan responded to Lynch by telling her to return home and be a mother. Lynch laughed off the remark and continued taking shots at the champion as Judgment Day retreated up the entrance ramp.
Lynch claimed Morgan was not even the greatest women’s champion in Judgment Day or the greatest woman to have been involved with Dominik Mysterio, referencing former Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley.
Former WWE Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer Also Made Her Return Last Night
Before Judgment Day could leave, Stephanie Vaquer made her own return and immediately attacked the group. Vaquer took Liv Morgan down with a barrage of strikes while Becky Lynch watched from the turnbuckle.
It marked Vaquer’s first WWE appearance since losing the Women’s World Championship to Morgan at WrestleMania after spending several months sidelined through injury.
Once Judgment Day had been cleared from ringside, Lynch and Vaquer came face-to-face in the middle of the ring, potentially adding another wrinkle to the Women’s World Championship picture.
No match involving Lynch, Vaquer or Morgan has currently been announced.
Lynch had been absent from WWE television since June 8, when she was eliminated from the Queen of the Ring tournament in the opening round. WWE did not provide an on-screen explanation for her absence.
