Former WWE World Champion Batista has reportedly been cast in an upcoming Star Wars project.
According to industry insider MyTimeToShineHello, the former WWE star is set to join the long-running science fiction franchise, although details surrounding his reported involvement remain limited.
“Dave Bautista has been cast in a Star Wars project.”
The report did not reveal which Star Wars project Batista has reportedly joined or what character he could potentially play. Neither Lucasfilm nor Disney has officially confirmed his casting at this time.
There are currently several Star Wars projects in development, including Star Wars: Starfighter. The upcoming film is being directed by Shawn Levy and stars Ryan Gosling, with a theatrical release currently scheduled for May 28, 2027.
Mia Goth, Amy Adams, Matt Smith, Flynn Gray and Aaron Pierre are also among the announced cast. However, there is currently nothing to suggest that Starfighter is necessarily the project the six-time WWE Champion has reportedly joined.
Batista has established himself as one of professional wrestling’s most successful transitions into Hollywood since stepping away from WWE. He is best known for playing Drax the Destroyer in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy franchise and has also appeared in major productions including Blade Runner 2049, Dune and the James Bond film Spectre.
Batista Also Linked With Amazon’s God Of War TV Series
The 57-year-old has also recently been linked with another major franchise. Reports have suggested Batista could potentially play Kratos in Amazon’s upcoming God of War television adaptation.
For now, details surrounding Batista’s reported move into the Star Wars universe remain under wraps, including the project, character and potential release date.
