According to one AEW star, Tony Khan is a lot like Vince McMahon, but with a “good heart.”
Since Tony Khan founded AEW in 2019, many wrestlers who have worked for both him and Vince McMahon have contrasted the two for their different management styles and methods of booking shows.
However, current AEW star John Morrison believes Khan and McMahon share similarities, too. Speaking to Sportskeeda Wrestling, he explained that, like McMahon in WWE, Khan works “really hard” to make AEW the best it can be.
“As far as Tony Khan goes, you know I would compare Tony to Vince a lot, like Tony Khan probably could have done anything he wanted, anything, you know? That’s the freedom you get with that amount of money, but he’s a wrestling fan and decided he wanted to work in the business of professional wrestling and he also decided he wanted to work really hard because he does work really hard.
“He’s at all the tapings, and I sometimes think he’s a lot like Vince except with a good heart, if you know what I mean.”
Tony Khan Credited For Knowing AEW Roster’s Strengths
Recently, ‘Speedball’ Mike Bailey spoke about feedback he receives from Tony Khan. The star said that while Khan doesn’t give him “incredibly specific” feedback on his matches, he does give him enough to know what he needs to do in the future. Bailey also said that Khan is “extremely smart” in working out wrestlers’ strengths and playing to them in his booking.
