AEW has launched a new fundraising initiative in support of Rebel following her recent ALS diagnosis.
The former AEW star, whose real name is Tanea Brooks, revealed in April that she had been diagnosed with ALS, a progressive neurodegenerative disease that currently has no cure. The diagnosis came after a lengthy health struggle in which doctors were initially unable to determine the cause of her symptoms. On Wednesday, Rebel announced that she has joined the patient-led advocacy organisation I Am ALS as an ambassador.
I am Tanea Brooks. I am Rebel. Now, I AM ALS.
ALS may be terminal, but I'm showing up to fight as an Ambassador for I AM ALS, a patient-led movement pushing for real progress. I’m proud to join I AM ALS & I’m asking you to step into the ring with us → https://t.co/RVHbWz6I52pic.twitter.com/v6ELnHHo8m

The wrestling promotion has also stepped in to support the cause by launching the “Rebel Heart” fundraiser, with proceeds benefiting both I Am ALS and Team Gleason, another organisation dedicated to helping those affected by ALS.
As part of the initiative, AEW has released “Rebel Heart” T-shirts and bracelets through Shop AEW. The company confirmed that all profits from merchandise sales will be donated to the two charities.
The fundraiser is not the only way All Elite Wrestling may become involved. Tony Khan has also discussed the possibility of dedicating a future Fight for the Fallen event to raising money and awareness for ALS research.

Rebel has been part of AEW since the promotion’s launch in 2019 and is best known for her on-screen role alongside Britt Baker. The pair became one of the most recognisable acts in the company’s women’s division during the company’s early years.
With the launch of the fundraiser, the promotion hopes to support ongoing research efforts while assisting organisations that provide resources and advocacy for those living with ALS.
