AEW is reportedly expected to pursue Bayley if the former WWE Women’s Champion becomes a free agent later this year.
According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, WWE sources believe Bayley has yet to sign a new contract with the company ahead of the reported expiry of her current deal. The report adds that AEW has been monitoring the situation for some time and would have “major interest” in signing Bayley should she become available.
During an appearance on Insight with Chris Van Vliet in April 2025, Bayley stated that she had approximately 18 months remaining on her WWE contract, placing its reported expiration around October 2026. An exact end date has not been confirmed.
Mercedes Moné Has Fuelled Bayley/AEW Speculation Lately
Speculation surrounding Bayley’s future has intensified in recent weeks, with close friend Mercedes Moné adding fuel to the rumours on social media. At the end of June, Moné shared fan artwork depicting herself defending the AEW Women’s World Championship against Bayley, using Bayley’s former ring name, Davina Rose, at WrestleDream 2026. Earlier this month, Moné further sparked discussion by posting an hourglass emoji on social media.
Bayley remains an active member of the WWE roster and is currently involved in a rivalry with former Women’s Intercontinental Champion Lyra Valkyria. Valkyria defeated Bayley at Saturday Night’s Main Event last weekend before claiming on this week’s episode of Raw that she had “run Bayley out of WWE,” a line that further fuelled speculation regarding Bayley’s long-term future with the company.
There has been no official confirmation that Bayley intends to leave WWE, nor that contract negotiations have concluded.
