AEW Double or Nothing will feature the return of Stadium Stampede for the first time in five years.
The match was announced during Wednesday night’s episode of AEW Dynamite following a confrontation between Chris Jericho and Ricochet. Jericho confronted Ricochet over recent attacks involving Ricochet and the Gates of Agony, demanding another fight. Ricochet eventually agreed, but only under Stadium Stampede rules, while also questioning whether Jericho could even find enough partners for the match.
The confrontation quickly broke down into a brawl involving Ricochet and The Gates of Agony before The Hurt Syndicate members Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin and MVP ran out to help Jericho, seemingly teasing their involvement as three of his partners.
Chris Jericho Will Compete In His Third Stadium Stampede Match At AEW Double Or Nothing
The upcoming match at AEW Double or Nothing will mark Chris Jericho’s third Stadium Stampede appearance. His Inner Circle faction lost the original Stadium Stampede match to The Elite at AEW Double or Nothing 2020 before defeating The Pinnacle in the 2021 edition.
The most recent Stadium Stampede took place at AEW All In 2023 inside Wembley Stadium.
