This week’s special three-hour edition of AEW Dynamite opened with a tribute to Ted Turner following news of his passing earlier in the day. Tony Schiavone and Sting both addressed the crowd and praised Turner’s impact on professional wrestling and television.
The in-ring action began with Jon Moxley defeating Juice Robinson in an AEW Continental Championship Eliminator Match after forcing Robinson to pass out in the Bulldog Choke. A backstage training vignette later aired featuring Will Ospreay working with The Death Riders before Moxley warned Ospreay that the hardest part of his journey was still ahead.
Orange Cassidy then defeated Dax Harwood in a chaotic Double Jeopardy match involving multiple factions at ringside. The match ended with Cassidy rolling Harwood up for the pinfall before a massive post-match brawl broke out involving FTR, The Young Bucks, Adam Copeland, Christian Cage and several others.
Elsewhere on the show, Chris Jericho confronted Ricochet and The Demand, leading to Ricochet proposing a Stadium Stampede match for AEW Double or Nothing. Jericho was overwhelmed during the confrontation until The Hurt Syndicate made the save.
Kazuchika Okada successfully retained the AEW International Championship against Bryan Keith with the Rainmaker before later challenging Darby Allin for the AEW World Championship next week.
In women’s tag team action, Hikaru Shida and Kris Statlander defeated Mina Shirakawa and Harley Cameron after Shida pinned Cameron following a Falcon Arrow.
Allin later retained the AEW World Championship against Kevin Knight in a competitive main event-level contest, putting Knight away with the Coffin Drop. Sting returned after the match to raise both men’s hands before MJF interrupted to demand another title opportunity. Allin agreed to a future contract signing only after demanding MJF put his hair on the line.
Other results saw Mike Bailey defeat AR Fox, Jamie Hayter defeat Skye Blue, and Rush quickly squash Manny Lo.
The show closed with The Young Bucks and Bang Bang Gang defeating The Death Riders and The Dogs in a wild ten-man tag team match. Ace Austin scored the deciding pinfall on Wheeler Yuta after a frantic closing sequence featuring nearly every competitor hitting signature offence.
