AEW delivered one of its most chaotic pay-per-views of the year on Sunday night as AEW Double or Nothing 2026 featured major title changes, shocking betrayals, violent stipulations and the crowning of a new AEW World Champion.
The show was headlined by MJF challenging Darby Allin for the AEW World Championship in a brutal Title vs. Hair main event, while the undercard featured Stadium Stampede insanity, the return of Kyle Fletcher and a major upset victory for Konosuke Takeshita.
The Buy In pre-show saw Mick Foley make his AEW debut alongside Renee Paquette. Foley later confronted MJF in the ring before endorsing Allin ahead of the night’s main event. MJF responded by low-blowing Foley before fleeing from an incoming Darby Allin.
Elsewhere on the pre-show, Divine Dominion defeated Viva Van and Zayda Steel, while The Death Riders overcame The Opps in a hard-hitting six-man tag bout. The Conglomeration, QT Marshall and Big Boom AJ also defeated Shane Taylor Promotions in a chaotic, celebrity-filled ten-man tag match that ended with the return of Eddie Kingston.
The main card opened with one of the most violent matches in recent AEW history as Adam Copeland and Christian Cage battled FTR in an AEW World Tag Team Championship I Quit Match. The contest featured barbed wire, flaming tables, cinderblocks and pliers before Copeland forced Dax Harwood to quit using a crossface while wielding Spike the Bat. Beth Phoenix also appeared during the match to neutralise Stokely.
One of the night’s biggest surprises came when Konosuke Takeshita defeated Kazuchika Okada to capture the AEW International Championship. The celebration did not last long, however, as Fletcher returned after the match and attacked Takeshita before standing tall alongside the Don Callis Family.
In tournament action, Athena defeated Mina Shirakawa in the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament, while Will Ospreay overcame Samoa Joe after a physical battle. Swerve Strickland also advanced by defeating Bandido in a high-paced showcase.
Jon Moxley retained the AEW Continental Championship against Kyle O’Reilly in a gritty submission-heavy contest, while Thekla survived a chaotic four-way match against Jamie Hayter, Hikaru Shida and Kris Statlander to retain the AEW Women’s World Championship.
The Stadium Stampede match once again delivered complete chaos as Team Jericho defeated the Don Callis Family, The Dogs and The Demand in a match that spilled throughout the arena. The bout featured shopping-cart attacks, table crashes, backstage brawls and even a bus-related spot involving Jack Perry before Jericho secured the winning fall.
The show closed with MJF defeating Darby Allin to regain the AEW World Championship in a brutal and emotional main event. The match featured a terrifying Coffin Drop from scaffolding through a table before MJF finally put Allin away with a devastating Tombstone Piledriver.
After the match, the chaos continued when Kevin Knight appeared to save Allin before shockingly turning on the fallen former champion, standing over him as Double or Nothing went off the air.
