Rivalries in pro wrestling are nothing new. But the animosity between Daisy Kill and Talos against The Immortals, Kratos and Odinson, is reaching new heights in the National Wrestling Alliance. This will be the first time Odinson will see action after an injury prevented him from being at The Looks That Kill signature event. In the main event of this NWA POWERRR, we’ll see which of these tag teams will come out on top.
But we get to the Stevens’ Academy, where Aron Stevens is holding court with NWA Mid-America champion Jeremiah Plunkett, and some fresh-faced students taking in what he’s dropping.
“Attention, troglodyte trainees. Clean your ears because this is something you want to hear. People call this the Learning Tree; but when you hear from me, it’s the Learning Sea. Because I am just like the ocean; there’s just too much you can consume. So you want to hear this one thing at this time, beginning with a little story about the NWA Mid-America champion, Jeremiah Plunkett. Jeremiah Plunkett listened. Jeremiah Plunkett took advice. Jeremiah Plunkett is now traveling state to state, defending the NWA Mid-America Championship. Jeremiah Plunket is a success. Jeremiah Plunkett is someone whose career is on the up. Jeremiah Plunkett represents a vision of the NWA. Jeremiah Plunkett represents an NWA, where everyone will bow because fear will be the spear.
Because the NWA will bow because it’s all about control. Control, control, control. It’s a mind game. It’s in the mind, in the mind. It is a mind game, and I play it better than anyone. All right. This isn’t playing checkers. This isn’t playing chess. This is playing a game that hasn’t even been invented yet, and it’s a game that you can play an opera.
Yes, where we’re going with this is bigger plans where we’re going with. This is me controlling the NWA World Heavyweight Championship, the Ten Pounds of Gold. You know what happens when we get gold? You know what happens to the checks? See, this is the wrestling business, and that’s all we do. That business don’t happen. So see, people can run, they can hide. I know the call your daddy, call your mama, but there’s ain’t no stopping…Aron Stevens’ Mission of Excellence.”

We come to you from the OC Theatre in Forney, TX. Joe Galli, Billy Corgan, and Danny Dealz have the call, and your First Match of the Night is for the…
NWA World Television Title: Carson Drake(c) vs. Alex Misery
As always, the match has a 6:05 time limit, and Drake has a few chances to make it to “Lucky Seven” to cash in a title bout for the Ten Pounds of Gold. Also interesting is The Slimeballz hanging in the “Slimepit” just off to the side of the stage.
Once the bell rings, Drake slaps Misery who asks for more. He whips him to the ropes and Drake slows the pace, but at the 5:18 mark there’s a crossbody by Misery for a two count and Drake has trouble handling his unorthodox style. Misery takes every opportunity to make a pin, but Drake manages to escape every time. He gets Drake in a wristlock and climbs up the top rope but Misery gets tripped up and tumbles to the floor. At the 3:43 mark, Drake dances away as the ref starts the count, but Misery comes back in at 3:05. Drake hammers away at Misery and slows down the offense as he grounds him to the mat with a headlock. Misery fights back and runs the ropes, only for Drake to turn him inside out with a back elbow and he covers for another two count. Drake chews the clock as he goes for another headlock and Misery manages to hit a jawbreaker to counter. His agility helps outpace Drake and he nails him with a backbreaker at 0:59, and a springboard cutter gets Misery a close two count. There’s 0:35 left and Misery lands a dropkick to send Drake to the floor and follows it with a moonsault. He sends him back into the ring, and Misery climbs up top to deliver an elbow drop that finds the mark as he covers, but the time limit expires. That means…
Your Winner via Time Limit Draw: Carson Drake
Once again, Drake’s friend is the clock as he chalks up another win. Kyle Davis gets in the ring to talk to the champ, and he simply states, “You can’t beat me.”
At the Paige House, Kenzie talks to Hunter Drake about the Burke. He mentions Natalia Markova still being a threat to her title reign, and Kenzie doesn’t feel that’s the case. She curiously mentions that if it wasn’t for Kylie being injured she’d be in her corner, but it’s really her time to shine. Drake keeps pressing the matter to not sleep on Markova, and daddy Tommy Henry wanders into the picture and tells him he talks too much and to shut it.
To quote the philosopher James Brown, “Papa don’t take no mess.”
But let’s head back to the ring as we see who will advance in the…
Dane Memorial Tournament: Zyon (with Brandon McCord) (5th Seed) vs. Burchill (4th Seed)
This is the second time we’ve seen McCord handle one of Austin Idol’s stablemates. We’ll see how much of a factor he will play in helping ZSyon to the next level.
There is some nice chain wrestling between both men, as they are going hold for counter hold. Zyon is getting outwrestled after a whip to the corner and he takes a powder to rethink his strategy with McCord. Burchill steps through the ropes to pursue the masked man, and Zyon trips up and takes him to the woodshed, bouncing his head off the apron edge. Now Zyon is in control picking apart Burchill, and he lands with a flying fist drop and covers for a two count. Fans chant for Burchill as he tries to get back on offense, and Zyon sends him back down with a reverse neckbreaker. The Ripper isn’t quite done as he stages a comeback with a back body drop, then an inverted atomic drop to a short clothesline. He follows with a Garvin stomp to Zyon, but the masked man reverses to a flatliner and then he transitions to a Z lock. Burchill claws his way through the submission and manages to get his feet on the ropes to force the release of the hold. As the ref oversees Burchill’s well-being, McCord gives a spike to Zyon. As he threatens to use the foreign object, the ref catches him red-handed and grabs it away. Burchill uses that moment to latch on the crossface and Zyon has no choice but to tap out.
Your Winner via Submission, and Advancing in the Dane Memorial Tournament: Paul Burchill
Meanwhile, back at The Southern Six clubhouse, Alex Taylor is wearing shades and regales about last night’s shenanigans he and “Thrillbilly” Silas Mason had. Ricky and Kerry Morton go over who’s still in the Dane Memorial Tournament and strategize who they have the best chance against to advance. Kerry acts all cocksure while Ricky tries to talk sense to his son. Kerry is getting a bit big for his britches, and reassures his dad it’s in the bag. He also states if it comes down to him and Mason, one of them will be moving forward, and it’s gonna be him. Ricky says never underestimate anyone, but Kerry walks off.
Yeah, that won’t come back to bite them in the end (he wrote, sarcastically)
The Immortals are here, so that means it’s time for our Main Event between the tags teams of…
The Immortals (Odinson and Kratos) vs. Daisy Kill and Talos
Odinson is back after missing The Looks That Kill with an elbow injury, as evidenced by his heavily taped-up limb. Kill comes out with an accordion, while a fan holds up an “I Am Groot” sign with a picture of Talos right next to the big man himself.
Gods, I love the timing of that image.
As soon as Kill and Talos cross the ropes, the Immortals come out swinging and they focus on the big man and knock him out of the ring. As they gather their wits, Kill gingerly steps into the ring with Odinson and now the bell rings. Any signs of ring rust or trepidation by Odinson’s injury are gone as he tackles Kill and gives his signature Asgardian uppercuts, followed by a knee drop and then a leg drop for a two count. He tags in Kratos and continues to give him more pain as he whips him to the ropes, but Talos gets a blind tag. Kill slips away out of the ring in and Talos attacks Kratos from behind. Now he and Kill cut the ring in half as Kratos becomes The Most Feared in Peril, and that leads to…
Ads (Sigh. It never ends.)
We come back and Kratos tries to fend off Talos, and he gets a big boot for his troubles. The beatings continue and Kill sends him to the corner and mounts with punches until Kratos nails him with a powerbomb. He sets up Kill for a Styles Clash until Talos grabs his throat for his choke slam. Kratos fights out and proceeds to knock him back with a Pele kick. A hot tag to Odinson and he is an Asgardian en Fuego, giving his Asgardian uppercuts and drilling Kill with an exploder suplex. Talos stops the offense, picks him up, and sends Odinson injured arm first through the corner to the ring post. There is pandemonium in the ring as Kill attacks Odin, but accidentally sends Talos out of the ring, where Kratos proceeds to dive on the big man. A Pounce by Odinson, and he covers Kill for the one, two, and three.
Your Winners via Pinfall: The Immortals
Thom Latimer is exiting a car with his gear heading to The OC Theatre when he is greeted by The Slimeballz. Sage Chantz and Tommy Rant act all excited like they huffed a few six-packs of Red Bull and Latimer is nonplussed. He wants them to get to the point, and they claim their “friend” has info to help him deal with Aron Stevens and they wanna make it better for them. The champ says it ain’t the time or place and will discuss it later. As he walks by, The Slimeballz are excited that they got one over on Latimer.
However, the champ was still in earshot. As he goes back to the boys, he says flatly, “Scrap that. I don’t need yer help,” and then walks away as the show draws to a close.
NWA POWERRR: 03/25/2025
Final Thoughts:
It took a while, but the cinematic vignettes mixed with the wrestling give it a Lucha Underground feel. Drake is utilizing the “chickens***” heel persona to where he escapes every time with a victory, and tonight against Misery is no different. Good to see Burchill get the win to advance, and Nice to see Odinson back at it again.
Until then, see ya next Tuesday!
