TORONTO — Zoe Sager was announced as the latest WWE ID wrestler at Sunday’s Northern Crown show. She is the first Canadian wrestler to be given this incredible opportunity.
In the ring at Blood Brothers Brewery, she expressed her appreciation for the opportunity after an exciting match against Beaa Moss.
Zoe thanked the crowd, Northern Crown, and WWE for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. She said that this is what can happen when you chase your dreams.
While that was a great moment, another was the final match of the night, which ended with Josh Alexander making a major announcement about his future on the independent wrestling scene.
Here are the results from the rest of the show from Toronto’s east end:
TNA’s Steve Maclin defeated Alessandro del Bruno in a hard-hiting, intense match where either could have won.
Also from TNA, Windsor’s Aiden Prince defeated Cole Radrick after a jump from a tall ledge that was behind the crowd, about a 15-foot drop.
Shane Sabre was victorious over Sam Beale, who bravely came out with a can of Busch Light to the crowd roaring boos at him.
Jessie V beat Ren Jones (and his two bodyguards) with a big spot where he dropped all three of them on their backs at once from his head.
And in the finale of the night, Vaughn Vertigo defeated Josh Alexander and Gabriel Fuerza to become the Northern Crown Champion. Josh Alexander ran through both opponents at times but Vertigo proved that even the Walking Weapon can be disarmed.
Josh Alexander took a few minutes after the match to announce Sunday would be his last independent appearance, aside from special events. He said that he’s been grinding for 20 years to get to where he is now and he’s more than happy to cede his spot on the independents for up and coming Canadian wrestlers that are ready to prove they belong.
