Fresh off his denial of doing anything wrong with Ronda Rousey, Drew Gulak was among names released by WWE from its NXT roster on May 3.
Rousey had initially not named the person who inappropriately touched the drawstring on her sweatpants, but later revealed it to be Gulak. He denied the accusation.
The 37-year-old Gulak had been a part of NXT/WWE since 2016. His release was first reported by PWInsider.
The rest of the names reportedly released, according to Fightful.com, are far less mainstream:
- Julian Baldi — He was an Italian football player, who only announced his WWE deal on April 17.
- Ezekiel Balogun — A former college basketball player.
- Trey Bearhill — A former college football player.
- Emmamaria Diaz — A fitness model. She posted to X: “I am very proud of and grateful for my time at WWE NXT. Having been trained by the best the business has to offer. Thank you @WWENXT … I would like to announce that I am now accepting independent wrestling bookings! There’s only one speed, and that’s mine #WWENextGen”
- Valentina Feroz — A Brazilian black belt in judo/jiu jitsu.
- Keyshawn Leflore — A former college cheerleader.
- Vlad Pavlenko — A competitor in the hammer throw while at Iowa State.
- Kiyah Saint (Harleigh White) — A nurse by training, made her NXT LvlUp debut in August 2023.
These releases follow some made on April 19, which included Jinder Mahal, Xia Li and Xyon Quinn. More names followed in subsequent days, including the tag team Indus Sher (Veer and Sanga), Von Wagner, and Cameron Grimes.
