NWA POWERRR: Knox and Murdoch want the NWA Tag Titles from Blunt Force Trauma

The tag team division of the National Wrestling Alliance is looking strong, and Blunt Force Trauma is sitting at the top holding the NWA Tag Team belts, however, Mike Knox and Trevor Murdoch get another bite at the apple.  With them having a win in the Crockett Cup with the masked men, and Blunt Force Trauma beating them at NWA 75, this is the match to decide who is the best.

Joe Galli goes into this further in a video promo:

We get stills of the recently departed Bart and Brett Sawyer, and we come to you from the Skyway Studios in Nashville, TN. Joe Galli and Danny Dealz have the call, starting with the First Match of the Night is a…

Four-Way Qualifying Match for the NWA World Television Title: Chris Adonis vs. The Golden Boy” Jordan Clearwater vs. Big Strong Mims vs. Blake “Bulletproof” Troop

As the match starts, Adonis decides to step out of the ring to watch the three carry on.  Troop then goes right after Clearwater and dismantles Mims as the veteran Adonis looks on.  Mims comes back with an airplane spin to the MMA fights, and Clearwater finishes things with a big boot.  They shake hands on their handiwork, and Adonis comes in the ring fresh and stomps them both.  He gives a spinebuster to Clearwater that gets a two count, and Troop gets back in the fray.  He and Adonis throw bombs, then he goes for the patented Masterlock but Troop reverses with a knee bar, but that sets him in position for Clearwater to nail a leg drop.  Troop pushes him out of the ring, and Adonis now has the Masterlock in place.  Troop backs him into the corner and Mims comes flying with a hip attack into a flying clothesline.  Then he delivers to Troop a Big Strong Slam, and that means…

Your Winner via Pinfall, and Advancing to the NWA World Television Title Tournament:  Big Strong Mims

Could this be the year Mims finally gets that elusive Television title?  He still has to get through Zicky Dice, but while Mims celebrates his victory Adonis and Clearwater come to blows after the match.  I smell another big matchup.

Kyle Davis is at The Podium with Knox and Murdoch about their main event with the tag team champs.  Murdoch notes that we live in a world where no one takes accountability for their actions. They knew they were destined for greatness, even though Aron Stevens kept interfering in what should be theirs. Knox goes helter-skelter and says he gets advice from Jerry The Jackalope and the gist is they don’t need a manager to get them over.  They just need to beat Blunt Force Trauma.

I mean, anyone getting advice from Jerry The Jackalope deserves a wide berth.

Now we get the women in action, and it’s between…

Kamille vs. Madi

This is the first time Kamille has been in the ring since her title loss at NWA 75. Madi shows disrespect to the former women’s champion, and Kamille beats the respect right back into her.  Madi is quickly outclassed, but she is cunning enough as she gets Kamille with a leg grapevine over the top rope and then uses the apron to choke her.  Then she slams her head into the turnbuckles and is vicious in her offense.  Then Madi attempts a leg drop but Kamille rolls out and nails the Oklahoma Stampede for a two count.  She whips Madi hard into the corner and rushes for a splash, but evades the attack.  Madi rolls her up with her feet on the ropes, but Ref catches her red-handed.  Madi attempts the Reality Check, but a Spear by Kamille ends it.

Your Winner via Pinfall:  Kamille

It’s so nice to see Kamille back in the ring on her winning ways.

Now for something funny (he said, with a shrug), this is for the…

NWA United States Tag Team Titles: Daisy Kill and Talos(c) vs.The Brothers of Funstruction (Yabo and Ruffo the Clown, with Violent J)

This is the first title defense for Kill and Talos (or as Dealz dubbed them, “Power Ballad.”  Might want to market that, fellas!)

Talos starts off with a juggling Yabo, who takes his ball and stomps it to the ground.  Then the big man tags in to Kill who runs his face on ropes and comes back with a flying back elbow.  Yabo and Ruffo start to clown around with Kill until Talos knees Yabo in the back and an elbow drop by Kill gets a count of two.  They keep the clown isolated in their corner, and Yabo is having no fun as he is in peril.  Pretty soon the match erupts into a Pier Four brawl (because it would be too on the nose to say that this is a three-ring circus).  Finally, as the dust settles Ruffo goes up the top turnbuckle but MechaWolf comes out and pushes him off the top for Kill to cover for the three count.

Your Winners, and Still NWA USA Tag Team Champions: Daisy Kill and Talos

After the match, there is a melee between La Rebelion and the Brothers of Funstruction.  Vampiro and Violent J are about ready to come to blows until the refs jump in.  Can we hope for a Faygo fight?  Also, can I get a royalty for that proposal?

(What do you mean, “no?”  *SIGH*)

Sam Laterna is backstage with Brady Pierce on Rolando’s comment on his “toughness.” As he demands that Laterna get out of his personal space, he sends a message that he should jump to the winning side and dump his brother, Rush Freeman, since things are not so Spectacular.

That will be interesting if and when that happens, but we have another title match, and this is for the…

NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship: EC3(c) vs. Jay Bradley

in his first title defense since NWA 75, EC3 faces one-half of The Fixers, LLC, and The Boss shoves the OverMan into the corner in a test of strength, and the champ shakes it off.  Bradley is too powerful but EC3 fights back.  However, Bradley backdrops him hard to the mat, and as EC3 crawls under the ropes he clubs away at his back and sets him up the top turnbuckle to an avalanche snapmare.  A side belly-to-belly suplex by Bradley takes the wind out of EC3 and he toys with the OverMan and then applies an abdominal stretch.  EC3 gets out with a jawbreaker and chops away at his torso, but Bradley picks at the ankle, then whips him hard into the corner and follows with a big boot coming through the camera.

It almost looks like Bradley is in control of his narrative, but EC3 begins to pick up momentum with a couple of axehandles followed by a crossbody.  Bradley picks him up in a fireman’s carry and dumps EC3 in the corner.  He then goes for a springboard elbow drop that misses the mark.  Ec3 comes back with a Thesz Press into the One Percenter, and that leads into The Purpose for the tap-out win.

Your Winner via Submission, and Still NWA World Champion:  EC3

Sam Laterna is talking with Natalia Markova and Taylor Rising about their team chemistry. They both agree that they have what it takes to face the NWA Women’s Tag Team champions, Prety Empowered next week. Markova and Rising give them props for being tough but emphasize they are more tough.

Now, Laterna is with Pollo Del Mar on how she is processing things after “Thrillbilly” Silas Mason has dumped her. She and Mason had a dream and it’s fallen apart, and Del Mar says she can’t say what’s next as she is trying to move on herself, but the fans haven’t seen the last of her.  That brings out Joe Alonzo to interrupt and he goes full douchnozzle on why we need to pay attention to Del Mar’s “Therapy session” and thinks we are done with her.  Del Mar takes the high road and says she has had enough of him.

Now it’s time for the Main Event and it’s for the…

NWA World Tag Team Championship: Blunt Force Trauma (Carnage and Damage, with Aron Stevens)(c) vs. Mike Knox and Trevor Murdoch

As the bell rings, Knox and Murdoch waste no time taking the fight to the masked men.  Carnage starts to get the worse of their blitzkrieg offense and ducks out to have a confab with Stevens on their strategy.  As he gets back in the ring, Carnage faces a mean-spirited Knox bites at his mask, then follows with a leapfrog body guillotine.  He tags back Murdoch, but then Damage distracts with a knee to his back and the numbers game places him in Blunt Force Peril.  Stevens sends in a chair and distracts the ref, while Damage uses the weapon across Murdoch’s back. Knox gets in the fray and grabs the chair away from Damage, but the ref sees the incriminating evidence and calls the match, so therefore…

Your Winners via Disqualification, and Still NWA World Tag Team Champions:  Blunt Force Trauma

Despite the referee call, there is no decisive win from either side, but no one is happy that Stevens used The Power of Douchenozzlery™ to secure the titles as the show goes to the credits.

NWA Powerrr - 09/26/2023

Final Thoughts:

Definitely a lot of action, and no wasted time on this show.  Blunt Force Trauma and Stevens are quite the pairing keeping the titles away from worthy contenders like Knox and Murdoch, but you know their comeuppance will happen one day.  EC3 is keeping to his word as a fighting champion, and Kill/Talos are equally good as NWA US tag champs, even though the feud with Yabo/Ruffo and La Rebelion is just as enticing.  I’m still holding out for Violent J/Vampiro to have a Faygo Fight.

Until that happens, see ya in seven!
