MLW Fusion is about to get a whole lot bigger. Tonight’s episode will feature the Fusion debut of Big Damo, formerly known as Killian Dain. A heavy-hitter aligned with Contra Unit, his first assignment is quite literally a tall task. He takes on Mads Krule Krugger in a match that Contra Unit will be watching very closely.
The Irishman provided his reasons for going after Krugger in a recent interview with SlamWrestling.net:
“Krugger was the the monster of MLW, but there’s always somebody a little bigger. In this case, there was somebody a lot bigger, and that’s me.”
Fans can expect to witness a heavy-hitting match with two of the promotion’s biggest wrestlers.
“So, what we’re looking forward to is going toe to toe with one of the best heavyweights in MLW and showing him exactly what everybody else in the world knows – that Big Damo is one of the premier heavyweights on Earth today.”
Krugger is now the biggest target for Contra Unit. It goes down tonight with their own heavy reinforcement, Big Damo.
“Well, you could tell that Krule was enjoying that people started to like it and started to talk him up. He started thinking that he didn’t need Contra.. But the truth is, he was put in that position. He was given those opportunities because of Contra … He was very quick to turn his back on [the group].”
“We’re not willing to to lay down for fools. So when it comes to the likes of Krule, the likes of people like that who maybe don’t quite understand their place in the game, we’re just going to run through them.”
It was the familiar feeling Big Damo got that drew him in with Contra Unit.
“I grew up in Belfast, Northern Ireland, in the middle of the Civil War. So to have what’s effectively an interesting group of lads, one that caused a bit of mischief, that really suits me [and] my history effectively within and without wrestling. Also the fact that there’s a goal. There’s a focus for Contra. We want to take over MLW, and it’s looking more and more likely now than ever before. It’s a hell of a roster we’re putting together, and people from all across the globe.”
He is confident in Contra Unit’s end goal.
“We’re looking forward to really taking it to everybody in MLW.”
Big Damo participated in the 2026 Opera Cup, defeating Wolfgang and Oddyssey before losing to Matt Riddle. Once Big Damo takes care of Mads Krule Krugger tonight, he plans on going for the top prize in MLW:
“There’s only one title that should be in anybody’s mind, and that’s the MLW World Heavyweight Title. Killer Kross is probably one of the greatest champions kicking around, but there’s a target on his back for a reason. He is beatable. He’s never wrestled somebody like me.”
MLW World Heavyweight Champion aside, there’s another name Big Damo might have his eyes on after his debut tonight.
“When I get through Mads Krule Krugger, then why not chase after Killer Kross? Why not slap about Matt Riddle? Why not give the Gallus Boys on Top a right good [beatdown] as well? I’ll do all of it. I’ve got Contra Unit behind me so I will chase after whoever I want to chase after.”
The MLW locker room has been put on notice. Big Damo will go after whomever he wants to.
And he won’t be alone.
