WWE NXT aired on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, featuring two Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic quarter-final matches, a championship defence and a number one contender’s match for the NXT Championship.
Tony D’Angelo faced Myles Borne for a shot at the NXT Championship, while Wren Sinclair addressed the controversy surrounding her victory in last week’s Women’s Championship number one contender’s battle royal.
Elsewhere, La Catalina defended the AAA Reina de Reinas Championship against Kali Armstrong, and two teams advanced in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic.
Vanity Project vs. Starboy & Mini Vikingo – Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Quarter-Final
The opening match of the evening saw Vanity Project’s Ricky Smokes and Brad Baylor face Starboy and Mini Vikingo, with Jackson Drake and Myka Lockwood at ringside for Vanity Project.
Starboy started strongly against Smokes before Mini Vikingo entered the match and connected with a Tornillo from the top rope.
Lockwood later blocked Mini Vikingo’s path outside the ring, allowing Baylor to attack him from behind. Vanity Project maintained control until Starboy received the tag and delivered a double flipping kick to both opponents.
Starboy followed with a standing Phoenix Splash on Smokes, but could only secure a two-count.
Mini Vikingo later used Baylor’s back as a launching pad to break up a pinfall before delivering a Mexican Destroyer to Smokes.
In the closing moments, Mini Vikingo hit a Tornillo over the top rope onto Drake at ringside. However, Smokes countered Starboy’s attempted moonsault by raising his knees.
Smokes then tagged Baylor, and the pair connected with a double stomp and reverse DDT combination to secure the victory.
Winner: Vanity Project (Ricky Smokes & Brad Baylor)
Tristan Angels vs. Saquon Shugars
Before the match, Saquon Shugars got into a backstage confrontation with Grayson Waller.
Shugars initially controlled the contest against Tristan Angels, targeting his opponent’s left arm and delivering a series of strikes.
Angels tried to expose the top turnbuckle, but Shugars stopped him and sent him outside the ring with a clothesline.
After Shugars connected with consecutive dropkicks through the ropes, an angry Angels began throwing chairs into the ring, forcing the referee to intervene.
Angels eventually regained control, wearing down Shugars with a sleeper hold before the action returned to ringside.
Using the announce desk, Angels sent Shugars face-first into a chair and followed with a knee strike to secure the victory.
Winner: Tristan Angels
Wren Sinclair Addresses NXT Women’s Championship Controversy
Wren Sinclair entered the ring to discuss her controversial victory in last week’s 20-woman number-one contender battle royal.
Sinclair admitted she disguised herself as AAA wrestler Lady Shani to enter the match, apologised, and made it clear she didn’t entirely regret her actions.
She explained that playing by the rules had previously failed to produce the opportunities she wanted and that she needed to take a chance.
Sinclair also reflected on losing the WWE Women’s Speed Championship and Kendal Grey losing the NXT Women’s Championship, saying she wanted to step up for herself and Grey.
NXT Women’s Champion Kelani Jordan interrupted, arguing that Sinclair should not be rewarded for breaking the rules.
Jordan insisted that Sinclair’s suspension meant her battle royal victory should not count and declared that she would defend her championship against anyone other than Sinclair at Halloween Havoc on October 31.
NXT General Manager Robert Stone then appeared and announced that Sinclair’s suspension had officially been lifted.
Although Stone acknowledged Jordan’s objections, he pointed to Sinclair’s battle royal victory and asked the audience whether she deserved a championship opportunity.
After receiving an overwhelmingly positive response, Stone officially announced Kelani Jordan vs. Wren Sinclair for the NXT Women’s Championship at Halloween Havoc.
Dion Lennox Attacks Cruz Montana Backstage
Backstage, Cruz Montana encouraged Lizzy Rain before receiving a telephone call from his mother.
However, Dion Lennox attacked Montana from behind and subsequently redialled his mother’s number in an apparent attempt to intimidate his rival.
La Catalina (c) vs. Kali Armstrong – AAA Reina De Reinas Championship
La Catalina defended the AAA Reina de Reinas Championship against Kali Armstrong in the evening’s title match.
Armstrong began aggressively, but Catalina responded with a headscissors takedown and a hip attack that knocked her challenger off the ring apron.
Catalina attempted a crossbody to the outside, but Armstrong caught her and delivered a bodyslam onto the floor.
Armstrong then exposed the concrete and attempted another bodyslam, but Catalina escaped and sent her opponent into the steel steps.
The champion followed with a senton from the steps before the action returned to the ring.
Catalina connected with a dropkick from the middle rope and survived Armstrong’s pinfall attempt.
She then delivered a Shining Wizard to secure the victory and retain her championship.
Winner: La Catalina
Nathan Frazer & Axiom vs. Noam Dar & Romeo Moreno – Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Quarter-Final
The second Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic quarter-final featured Nathan Frazer and Axiom against Noam Dar and Romeo Moreno.
Frazer and Dar began the match, with Dar quickly applying an Ankle Lock before Frazer reached the bottom rope.
Both teams exchanged rapid attacks, with Frazer and Axiom combining their speed and aerial offence to keep their opponents under pressure.
Frazer connected with a springboard Spanish Fly on Moreno, while Dar countered an attempted Phoenix Splash by raising his knees.
Axiom later helped Frazer escape a triangle submission hold, and Frazer followed with a Frog Splash that nearly secured the victory.
The action intensified when Axiom delivered a Spanish Fly to Moreno from the top rope, allowing Frazer to follow with another Frog Splash.
However, Dar prevented the pinfall by trapping Frazer in an Ankle Lock.
Frazer and Axiom then tried to finish Moreno with a combination after a superplex, but Moreno recovered and delivered a fallaway slam to Axiom from the middle rope.
Dar then stopped Frazer with a back elbow before combining with Moreno to deliver a Russian leg sweep and kick combination to Axiom for the victory.
Winner: Noam Dar & Romeo Moreno
Tony D’Angelo vs. Myles Borne – NXT Championship Number One Contender’s Match
In the main event, Tony D’Angelo faced Myles Borne, with the winner earning a future opportunity at the NXT Championship.
Borne took control early, sending D’Angelo into the ring apron, ring post and steel steps.
D’Angelo fought back, driving Borne shoulder-first into the barricade before returning the action to the ring.
Grayson Waller was shown watching the contest backstage as Borne continued his offence.
D’Angelo caught Borne attempting an aerial attack and delivered a spear in midair before the two exchanged strikes.
Borne attempted his Borne Again finisher, but D’Angelo countered with a sit-out powerbomb for a near fall.
After Borne recovered and connected with an Angle Slam, a cameraman suddenly climbed onto the ring apron and distracted him.
D’Angelo capitalised on the distraction and delivered a chokeslam to secure the victory and become the number one contender for the NXT Championship.
Winner: Tony D’Angelo
Following the match, the cameraman revealed himself to be Tavion Heights.
He attacked Borne, delivering a belly-to-belly suplex before powerbombing him through the announce desk.
Heights stood over Borne as the aftermath of the main event unfolded.
Halloween Havoc Host Teased In Closing Segment
In the final moments of the broadcast, NXT General Manager Robert Stone returned to his office after finishing a telephone conversation.
Stone discovered a note on his desk demanding that its author be named the host of Halloween Havoc.
The message read: “make me the host of Halloween Havoc, or you are cursed”.
The lights then began flashing as laughter associated with the “Very Nice, Very Evil” WWE character was heard, teasing another development ahead of the October 31 event.
