Tony D’Angelo announced a blockbuster Number One Contender’s Match for next week, new WWE NXT Tag Team Champions were crowned, and Kendal Grey retained the NXT Women’s Championship in a brutal Underground Match as WWE NXT rolled into Orlando on Tuesday night.
Last night’s show opened with a video package recapping the major events from last week’s episode before Jaida Parker made her way to the ring. She was joined by Thea Hail, while Karmen Petrovic and Nikkita Lyons entered alongside Nattie for the night’s opening contest.
Jaida Parker and Thea Hail vs. Karmen Petrovic and Nikkita Lyons
Petrovic and Parker started the match with an aggressive exchange before Hail and Lyons tagged in. Lyons quickly slowed the pace, grounding Hail with a submission before continuing to target her throughout the early stages of the contest.
Parker and Hail briefly seized control with a pair of double shoulder tackles before both women launched themselves through the middle rope onto their opponents on the outside. However, Nattie created an opening by taking Hail out at ringside, allowing Lyons and Petrovic to isolate her after the commercial break.
The heels continued cutting the ring in half as Lyons and Petrovic took turns wearing Hail down. Hail attempted to fight back with a surprise roll-up, but Lyons escaped before Parker finally received the hot tag.
Parker exploded into the match, taking the fight to both opponents before knocking Nattie from the ring apron as she attempted to interfere. Lyons almost stole the victory with a quick roll-up, but Parker escaped and blasted her with a signature Hip Attack before bringing Hail back into the match.
With Petrovic neutralised at ringside, Hail climbed to the top rope and delivered a senton onto Lyons to secure the victory.
Winner: Thea Hail and Jaida Parker
The celebrations were short-lived as Nattie, Lyons and Petrovic launched a three-on-two assault after the bell. However, the attack quickly unravelled when Nattie accidentally struck Lyons instead of Parker, allowing Parker and Hail to clear the ring and stand tall.
Tony D’Angelo then headed to the ring for an address to the NXT Universe.
D’Angelo accused Grayson Waller of disrespecting both him and the entire NXT locker room the previous week, claiming Waller viewed the NXT Championship as nothing more than a stepping stone back to WWE’s main roster. He then turned his attention to Cruz Montana, inviting him to the ring to continue their interrupted conversation from last Tuesday.
Instead, Waller appeared in the crowd and declared that anyone wanting the NXT Championship would first have to go through him. D’Angelo fired back, mocking Waller for insulting him from a distance before reminding him they had fought alongside one another in WarGames during the NXT 2.0 era. He questioned what Waller had accomplished since leaving NXT compared to stars such as Carmelo Hayes, Trick Williams and himself.
Montana soon emerged from another section of the crowd and admitted Waller had rattled plenty of cages with his comments last week. He contrasted their careers by explaining that while Waller had spent years chasing attention, he had spent years proving he belonged in NXT despite the hardships he had faced.
Waller dismissed Montana’s speech as another sob story, insisting he had embraced his own personal demons. Before the confrontation could escalate further, D’Angelo stepped in with a solution, announcing that Waller and Montana would face one another next week in a Number One Contender’s Match, with the winner earning an opportunity to challenge for the NXT Championship.
WWE Women’s Speed Championship Match: Wren Sinclair (c) vs. Zaria
With the five-minute time limit in effect, Wren Sinclair immediately looked to catch the challenger by surprise with a quick roll-up before frustrating Zaria with her speed and movement.
Zaria gradually imposed her power, driving Sinclair shoulder-first into the ring post before unloading with a series of Hammer and Anvil elbows. Sinclair continued searching for flash pinfalls as the clock ticked down, repeatedly forcing the champion to escape near-falls while precious seconds disappeared.
The closing stages became increasingly frantic. Sinclair connected with a double underhook butterfly suplex and headed to the top rope with less than 30 seconds remaining, only for Zaria to catch her in mid-air and attempt an F5. Sinclair escaped and transitioned into a reverse chicken wing just as the time limit expired.
Winner: Wren Sinclair (via time limit expiration)
Although Sinclair retained her championship, Zaria had the final word, planting the champion with an F5 after the bell.
Backstage, Kelani Jordan praised Grayson Waller for speaking uncomfortable truths about the NXT locker room. Elsewhere, tensions between Mason Rook and Kam Hendrix boiled over, with officials forced to intervene before the confrontation became physical.
WWE NXT Tag Team Championship Match: Vanity Project (c) vs. Myles Borne and Tavion Heights
Myles Borne and Tavion Heights entered with an opportunity to end Vanity Project’s reign, and they wasted little time asserting themselves.
Heights dominated Ricky Smokes early with a pair of bodyslams before Borne entered and showcased his own power, driving Smokes into the canvas with an Angle Slam before turning his attention to Brad Baylor.
The challengers remained firmly in control through the early going, frequently isolating whichever champion was in the ring while using quick tags to maintain the advantage. Vanity Project eventually slowed the pace during the commercial break, targeting Borne with frequent tags and double-team offence.
Momentum swung repeatedly as both teams traded impressive combinations. Borne and Heights connected with a powerbomb-dropkick combination before delivering simultaneous scoop powerslams that left the champions reeling.
Chaos erupted when Jackson Drake attempted to interfere from ringside, but the referee spotted the distraction and ejected Myka Lockwood from ringside, ensuring the closing moments would remain even.
Jackson Drake’s attempted interference ultimately proved costly. With the distraction neutralised, Heights intercepted Baylor with a thunderous belly-to-belly suplex before scoring the decisive three-count to crown new champions.
Winner: Myles Borne and Tavion Heights – NEW WWE NXT Tag Team Champions
Borne and Heights celebrated an emotional championship victory after ending Vanity Project’s reign, while the former champions were left stunned as the challengers completed one of the biggest title changes of the summer.
Keanu Carver was the next man to head to the ring, with EK Prosper waiting for him.

Prosper came out firing, catching Carver with a kick from the ring apron before connecting with a moonsault and a dropkick. Carver answered with a dropkick of his own, but Prosper continued to impress by sending his larger opponent crashing over the announce desk with a shotgun dropkick.
Carver gradually slowed the pace during the commercial break, grounding Prosper with a pair of punishing submission holds before the action shifted back in Prosper’s favour.
Prosper exploded with a Tornado DDT before climbing to the top rope and landing a spectacular Swanton Bomb. He looked poised to score the upset victory, but Carver’s resilience proved the difference.
Carver responded with a devastating back suplex and a powerbomb, only for Prosper to fire back with a Shining Wizard and another near-fall. As Prosper looked to capitalise, Carver cleverly reversed the pinning combination to steal the victory.
Winner: Keanu Carver
Following the match, NXT paused to honour the late Dory Funk Jr., with Vic Joseph and Booker T introducing a tribute video celebrating the Hall of Famer’s remarkable contributions to professional wrestling.
Backstage, Robert Stone was shown discussing the possibility of signing a new free agent before Cruz Montana, and Tristan Angels came face-to-face after Stone departed, creating another point of tension ahead of next week’s show.
The main event saw the NXT Women’s Championship defended under Underground rules as Lola Vice challenged Kendal Grey.

The two competitors immediately lived up to the stipulation, exchanging strikes before Grey attempted to transition the contest to the mat with her grappling background. Vice escaped the early submission attempts and punished Grey with a series of kicks to the leg.
Grey answered by launching Vice from the ring apron to the floor with a hurricanrana before driving her into the ring post. Vice regained control moments later, sending the champion face-first into the steel ring steps.
The match took a concerning turn during the commercial break when Grey began bleeding from her ear. Medical staff checked on the champion at ringside, but after receiving treatment and having her head bandaged, Grey insisted on continuing despite clearly being affected by the injury.
Vice targeted the wounded champion as soon as the action resumed, locking in an Ankle Lock before connecting with the 305. Grey instinctively covered Vice following the move, momentarily forgetting that pinfalls are not recognised under Underground rules.
The closing moments became increasingly chaotic. Vice accidentally knocked the referee down with another 305 before applying a sleeper hold that appeared to leave Grey fading. With no official able to call the finish, Wren Sinclair encouraged the champion from ringside.
Grey battled back with a superkick, but Vice answered with a roundhouse kick of her own. The champion then seized one final opportunity, trapping Vice in a tight armbar that forced the challenger to tap out.
Winner: Kendal Grey
After the match, Grey showed respect to her opponent by raising Vice’s arm before both women embraced, bringing the show to a sportsmanlike conclusion as NXT went off the air.
