To some extent, the voices of the fans do get too loud for their own good, that prevents certain things that should happen from happening. Randy Orton realized that when he held himself back from listening to the voices in his head from getting number 15. Cody Rhodes giving his blessing felt like a self-righteous knock on the cranium, much like the one Matt Cardona gave Orton with a microphone after last week’s brutal adjustment.
Backstage, Nick Aldis called Trick Williams to reward him with a match at WrestleMania for his outstanding performance on the blue brand. I’m not sure if I was hearing things, but I think Williams tag-named Sami Zayn, “gingerbread”. I can’t see that as an insult, unless we’re talking about those monstrous adaptations of evil, santient gingerbread, we’re safe. Ha! Anyway, anyway, Aldis informing Zayn that if nothing changes, he won’t be going to WrestleMania this year. And Trick’s relentless taunting didn’t do him any favors, so Zayn floored him like hell promising Aldis that he’ll make sure he gets his spot.
Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss vs. The Bella Twins – Tag Team match
Nikki whipped Charlotte into the corner as the queen flipped out of harm’s way and kicked both twins before rolling Nikki up momentarily. Brie Bella came off the ropes and hammered Flair’s arm down. That upper hand didn’t last long since Charlotte regained her strength back. Once Alexa was tagged in, that’s when Brie was able to trip her opponent up.
Later on, Flair performed a double crossbody on the Bella Twins before unleashing some heavy chops to their chests. At some point, it looked dead silly. You can’t convince me otherwise. After giving Brie the fall away slam, Nikki suffered it as well. Just as Brie Mode was coming into play, Bliss stood up just in time to launch a retaliation. Brie was quick to her feet with a roll up that Alexa countered and missed. Bliss tumbled close to the ropes and collided with Lash Legend’s fist due to Charlotte telling them to “suck it” earlier. Brie saw an opening and pinned her.
Follwing the conclusion of the match, Flair wasn’t too happy about how things played out as she’s seen arguing with the twins just as the Irresistible Forces stomped in and laid them all out. Bliss, who’s still reeling from the punch, was about to suffer at their hands again if Lyra Valkyria and Bayley, Legend and Jax’s Monday challengers, hadn’t rushed in. That drop kick to Nia was hilarious. It truly shoved her out.
Winners: The Bella Twins
After last week’s attack of a 3-on-1, Rhea Ripley voiced her shock to see Michin and B-Fab seemingly aligning themselves with Jade Cargill, who’s intent to not get her hands dirty. Ripley called all their asses out. B-Fab tagged Rhea a ” selfish backstabber” for not seeing past her own ambitions and stepping on others who also put in the work. Michin added to that as well. In the end, B-Fab decided to step up and fight Rhea in a match. One that didn’t last very long under the sanctioned context since Jade got physically involved after that headbutt B-Fab received. Rhea was dropped by all three women.
What is going on right now?? Why’s Jelly Roll in another wrestling match? Are we not taking things seriously endearig anymore? Jelly was doing… fine, especially after teaming with Randy at SummerSlam, but this needs to stop. Please. Even Jelly couldn’t believe he won with that choke slam.
Sami Zayn vs. Carmelo Hayes (c) – US Championship match
In the corner, Sami was catching his breath as he turned around and nearly fell victim to the First 48, luckily, he reversed it into a powerbomb. Later on, Zayn was looking for a Helluva Kick, Carmelo dodged out of the way and delivered a kick to his face. By climbing to the top, Sami managed to deliver a superplex to Hayes. That left them temporarily stunned. Once again, Melo was hoping for Nothing but Net, got caught into a Blue Thunderbomb and was nearly pinned.
Trick Williams was at ringside watching. After seeing that previous move, Williams took it upon himself to grab the US Championship and started walking around with it, hoping to get Sami and Carmelo’s attention. He did by pushing the title in front of Zayn. While the referee wasn’t looking, Hayes remained focused as he attempted to roll Zayn, I suspect, but Trick was up on the apron when he punched the Champion. Sami shoved Williams with his foot before landing a winning Helluva Kick. God knows if Williams was helping, so he could get a shot at that title, what else could it be, but this might not end well for someone.
Winner: Sami Zayn
Fatu and McIntyre’s bloody catastrophe of last Friday was one of the best things to take place for a few weeks now, so naturally, it continues. All this started when Jacob accused Drew of a crime he says he didn’t commit, I don’t remember what it was, but it didn’t stop there. Things escalated when Fatu cost McIntyre his title. The end result of all this fighting, grunting and insulting people’s kids, Aldis made the brilliant decision to unsanction this match for WrestleMania. YAY!!!
I think I was paying way too much attention to Tiffany Stratton’s outfit because it reminded me of the Barbie Fairytopia trilogy films. The top half of her ring gear is a butterfly, a creature with wings. The colors and design reached into my memories and pulled Barbie. Evidently so, she is dubbed the “Buff Barbie doll”. Oops, back to the point, if I can. Stratton’s Prettiest Moonsault was impeded by Kiana James’ face and Giulia’s knees, awarding her challenger the victory.
At the beginning of the evening, Matt Cardona bonked Randy on the head with a microphone, so he later wanted to fight Matt. Stupidity isn’t the word I’d use to describe Cardona’s acceptance of the invitation knowing his left wrist hasn’t healed. Orton targeted it multiple times that I thought a bone would popped out… An RKO to Cardona put an end to this torture despite the fans asking for one more RKO. Even though Randy won the match, he had someone else who wanted to enagage in a brawl with him. Cody Rhodes was taking his sweet time after the beating he received to get to the ring and “talk”. This lasted quite some time.
