Cody Rhodes was talking about what’s next for him just as Ricky Saints, former NXT Champion, made his debut on the blue brand. It’s more like who’s next on the radar? Saints wanted a match with the now medically clear Cody later tonight. Ricky came to SmackDown to not only make a statement but to shift the spotlight to himself.
There were two things that surprised me during the Charlotte Flair and Jacy Jayne match. One, Jacy was cartoonishly jumpy when she nearly collided with Alexa Bliss’ face. And two, Jayne won her bout with Flair due to outside interferences. Following that nonsense, Fatal Attraction laid waste to Alexa and Charlotte until Rhea Ripley came out to assist.
According to commentary, Damian Priest has been hanging around R-Truth for too long that he began to channel his teammate’s word-blurting abilities, saying things he might later regret, hence the title match against Fraxiom. Despite how ferocious Priest can be in the ring, along with Truth’s spunk, they don’t hold a candle to the syncronized energy their opponents have, and we’ve yet to see differently. They do they’re best to extinguish Fraxiom, but in all seriousness, I didn’t really care very much.
I’m all for Bloodline feuding, that’s the tiny petty side of me talking, but I thought I escaped the Roman Reigns “Tribal Chief” name-calling era. I thought I got out of hell only to be dragged back there again. I thought the Usos weren’t brainwashed anymore. The fact that not only Jimmy called Reigns the Tribal Chief, so did Jey. The reason why this bothers me so much is because they’re tossing themselves aside, again, to put this man in value when he won’t do the same. if Roman wants something, it doesn’t matter that others have business with Jacob Fatu as well. Their pursuit matters not. Solo Sikoa stepped over that blind perception in the form of Talla Tonga beating up the twins. And I actually appriciated that… not the beating, though.
Saints asked for a match with Rhodes, but to be honest, he was hardly able to deliver that big mouth of his. But worry not, Gunther took care of that. Well, this was coming. The question was when. Royce Keys continued his winning streak with the annihilation of Angel after what he did to Humberto three weeks ago. This was simply to demonstrate what he can do… against underwhelming challengers, unfortunately. Still deserves a like.
You could hear it in Sami Zayn’s voice when he talked about grit, passion and hard work for this company that he’s bleed for. Trick Williams becoming our new US Champion is a joke waiting to be exposed according to Zayn. He believes that Williams doesn’t take this wrestling world seriously, hence the gingerbread man costume and the oversaturated pyrotechnics. The empty costume, mind you, is beaten to death by an irate Sami. Ha! That draws the attention of Trick to the stage.
After losing their WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships, Nia Jax and Lash Legend battle the current holders in Brie Bella and Paige. Don’t get me wrong, I was happy to see Paige again, but I knew the moment she appeared, my WrestleMania prediction was out the window and into the garbage. However, they did work in tantum to keep those titles around their waists.
At some point during a match between the Usos and the MFTs, Talla Tonga and Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu showed up to disrupte the proceedings because of the earlier attack he suffered at the behest of Sikoa. Talla didn’t finish the job, so naturally, the Samoan Werewolf came back to enact revenge. Since the twins were already taken out byTalla, Jacob managed to get his hands on the big man before making his way to Sikoa’s throat. He didn’t see Jey and Jimmy as threats since he walked right past them. At least his focus is well aimed. The Usos aren’t the issue.
I worked really hard on this poem I recently posted which discusses themes of emotional/psychological abuse, venomous family dynamics, self-brutalization and longing for reprive. It’s rated M, so you’ve warned. It Should Have Been Four.
