As we open the curtains to start the evening, a vehicular collision came to be in the parking lot where Tonga Loa was found bleeding from the forehead in a T-bone accident and officers were on the scene trying to figure out what happened.
Raquel Rodriguez vs. Charlotte Flair
I don’t know if I should call whatever is that’s going on between Flair and Alexa Bliss “friendship”, but their union is a strange one, so much so to the point that I’m lost as to why it’s happening. But… that’s besides the reason why we’re here, Charlotte has been making great work out of Rodriguez during this match. Chop after chop to the chest of her opponent, followed by a no-nonsense clothesline.
Raquel surprised Charlotte by rolling through a crossbody, then proceeded to plant her on the mat for a near fall. Roxanne Perez and Alexa Bliss were watching the fight at ringside. Since Liv Morgan was injured, someone had to fill in the empty Women’s Tag Team Championship spot, so Perez volunteered. I’m not sure how I feel about her being in Judgment Day, but her presence stirred more friction within the group. We love to see it.
Raquel was looking for the Tahana Bomb, Flair was able to escape and attempt the Figure 4 until Perez found herself on the apron playing distraction. Flair disposed of Roxanne on one side of the ring, while on the other, Bliss helped Charlotte by disjointing Rodriguez, allowing the queen to roll her up for the win.
Winner: Charlotte Flair
I’m excited for the WWE Women’s Championship match at SummerSlam between Tiffany Stratton and Jade Cargill. That was a long time coming for Cargill to be in a singles title match since arriving on the blue brand. The Tag Team Championship was a momentary thing because I knew it wasn’t going to last, especially when you have two behemoths tagging together. You’d think that would work, but it didn’t. Both Belair and Cargill functioned best individually.
After securing the Tag Team Championships from our former title bearers, the Street Profits, the Wyatt Sicks vow to bring ultimate destruction, calculative planning and fear into the Tag division with Joe Gacy and Dexter Lumis holding the gold as their first act of spreading their truth.
Damian Priest vs. Carmelo Hayes
Oof… Priest hasn’t been doing very well from the word “go” against Hayes. According to commentary, they believe that Carmelo was one step ahead of Damian with every move, like that counter to Priest’s South of Haven with a Code Breaker. That frog splash might have earned Hayes the victory if he hadn’t delayed himself, but the attack was painful to his stomach.
Later on, Damian connected with a forearm to the base of Hayes’ face as he was coming down on his challenger with a Moonsault from the apron. That rattled Carmelo into wobbly noodles. He added more punishment by driving Melo’s face into the announcement desk. Just as Damian was looking for something to put Him away, Aleister Black literally appeared out of nowhere to trip Priest off the top, sending his crutch into a spiral, and his body wheezing.
Apparently, Priest was searching for Black, so he naturally found his hunter first. “I heard you’re looking for me.” said Aleister as he delivered the Black Mass to Damian’s jaw.
Winner: Disqualification
News that Solo Sikoa was responsible for the car disruption earlier in order to frame Jacob Fatu, the Samoan Werewolf sought out his former… um, friend? In the ring, Fatu squashed Sikoa into every different shape he could muster, with Jimmy Uso’s help, they cleared house of JC Mateo and Tonga Loa. Tala Tonga was being held back just in case. Things seemed dreary for Sikoa, and they got worse when Adam Pearce decided that Solo will be defending his US Championship in a Steel Cage match at SummerSlam versus Jacob. Whoo!! Solo even got arrested like the damn fool he is.
Alba Fyre vs. Stephanie Vaquer
Vaquer has been amazing during this fight where she countered Alba every step forward, utilizing unique pinning combinations to put Fyre down. They failed, of course, but they were great to witness. However, Fyre stunned Vaquer with a sudden kick to the midsection just as she was planning on slinging herself back inside the ring.
People are weird, they get wild the moment that Stephanie was lining up for the Devil’s Kiss. I think they’re just obsessed seeing her ass jumping up and down like that and not the effectiveness of that move… except to their crutch. Ha! Anyway, Alba was going for the Gory Special, yet Stephanie countered it with the SDB for a triumphant conclusion. That didn’t sit well with Piper Niven, so she assaulted the winner. Luckily, Stephanie managed to apply some defense.
Winner: Stephanie Vaquer
Andrade & Rey Fenix vs. Fraxiom vs. DIY vs. Motor City Machine Guns – WWE Tag Team Title No* 1 Contenders match
Both Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin have been clearing the ring of their opponents like they did with Johnny Gargano. They were looking for Skull and Bone on Axiom, yet Andrade stopped Shelley before he could initiate it. El Edolo tagged himself in after Sabin to fight Axiom. He took too much time to get up top as Axiom regained his strength back and kicked his sheens.
Fraxiom were able to perform the Spanish Fly and the Phoenix Splash, however, Tommaso tagged himself in, so Nathan Frazer was no longer legal. DIY tried to capitalize on the shuffling, good thing for Andrade that Fenix was there to neutralize them. They came too close to stealing a victory. Fenix leaped into the air and wiped out the Machine Guns and Fraxiom.
Just as Andrade was preparing something, again, Candice LeRae caused a distraction for Ciampa that nearly worked. Tommaso has Andrade restrained, unfortunately for him, El Edolo ducked out of the way, resulting in Ciampa being kicked in the face by Gargano. As payback, Andrade delivered the spinning elbow. To make sure Johnny stayed down, Fenix went flying, and Andrade finished the job by sending out the Message. But given what the Wyatt Sicks said beforehand, I wouldn’t be too happy to face them… but I’ll try anyway.
Winners: Andrade & Rey Fenix
Idiot. That’s what Cena thought Rhodes was when he tried to get out of a title match for SummerSlam by informing all of us that he won’t be at the biggest party of the Summer because he’s filming an upcoming movie for Netflix. Honestly, Netflix tends to release hit or miss entertainment like that’s their personality. A shame. But they did astonishing work seeing potential with Kpop Demon Hunters. That… yes!! Alas, we could be going back and forth in terms of quality with their library as Cena’s film will be streaming with their label on it.
John admitted that Cody deserved his rematch… in Perth. Ha! Despite everyone’s disbelief, that peace sign Cena sticked out was so odd and funny at the same time because he was the one doing it. And speaking of doing things, Rhodes couldn’t hold his frustration in anymore, so he went after John and fought him to sign the contract for a Street Fright.
