During what was supposed to be an interview between Brock Lesnar and Michael Cole resulted in The Beast terrorizing Cole by carrying him on his shoulder, then tossed him inside the ring. Corey Graves tried to help his friend and fellow commentator, but he suffered an F-5 to his body. Graves laid there like putty, lifeless. I don’t know why one particular voice in the crowd kept chanting: “One more time,” I was like, are you crazy, sir? Alas, Brock did it again. Anyway, this was a warning to John Cena ahead of their WrestlePalooza match. Lesnar scared me when he grabbed the camera and started shouting.
I’m not the only one who hates that PLE name, am I? Dear Christ….
Backstage, the Profits were dealing with some… unbalance between each other, so B-Fab encouraged them to talk it out. Angelo Dawkins barely got five words in before Montez Ford forgave on the spot. Very quickly. I solely wasn’t the one who saw this, Bo Dallas saw this, too. He tried to drill into Dawkins’ head that Ford doesn’t want to acknowledge what he has to say, but he will. That angered Montez so much that he dashed back into the frame to hook Dallas by the collar.
Bo sounded like a dark preachers with a siren’s voice, luring you in long enough for reinforcements to arrive in the form of Erick Rowan.
Alexa Bliss & Charlotte Flair (c) vs. Chelsea Green & Alba Fyre – Women’s Tag Team Championship match
As Bliss became legal, she did a front flip onto Green’s stomach before Alba Fyre could reach her. Charlotte witnessed this and pounced on her with a big shoulder tackle, which allowed Alexa to proceed with her attack on Chelsea. At a given moment, Green and Fyre turned the table on Alexa. Just as Bliss was about to tag Charlotte, Alba tripped Flair so badly that I thought her leg came off. Now that the queen was dealt with, Chelsea continued to assault Bliss, who’s been left alone momentarily.
Luckily with time, Alexa was able to bring Charlotte in as she ploughed through the opposition. For a second, Fyre and Green nearly won this match with a Swanton from Alba if it weren’t for Alexa’s vigilance. Later on, the Tag Team champs perform a double Natural Selection, Charlotte dove for a cover on Chelsea, and they retained. Like there was any doubt.
Winners: Alexa Bliss & Charlotte Flair
Prior to a Tag Team match with Fraxiom, the Vision, Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed, attack the duo as a message to the Usos to expect this and more from these brutes tomorrow night. Once Paul Heyman arrived to be the spokesperson of the group, the only thing I was paying attention to was that he wasn’t wearing a tie like he usually does. Wow, this is new. Heyman was going to deliver a spoiler to the audience, but Fraxiom were able to get back on their feet to take their aggressors out.
Despite the slight upper hand they established, Fraxiom were still getting destroyed by the Vision. Reed tossed Axiom into Bron, who speared him in mid-air. Like a damn missile. This allowed Bronson to perform an effective Tsunami on Nathan Frazer. That concluded the match with haste. Thinking they actually did something, Reed and Breakker were surprised to know that the Usos weren’t in the building, rather the Grainbridge Fieldhouse Centre spitting rhymes and diss tracks. Welcome to the Uso Penitentiary.
The evening continues with Nia Jax in the ring dragging Jade Cargill for filth until Tiffany Stratton made an appearance to tell Jax what the fans are truly sick of. Nia’s face when she heard Stratton’s music was priceless. Tiffy was marching to the ring, albeit barely, since the security team kept blocking her. That didn’t stop Cargill from finally responding to her name being dropped numerous times to clock some heads. Nick Aldis stopped any more from happening with a solution by having Stratton, Cargill and Jax fight for the WWE Women’s Championship in a Triple Threat match next Friday.
Elsewhere, R-Truth showed the fans how to watch Wrestlepalooza on the ESPN app, or with alternatives.
Sami Zayn (c) vs. Carmelo Hayes – US Championship match
Coming off the ropes, Sami strikes Carmelo with a right hand out of nowhere. So, Hayes did his best to recalibrate his defenses with a springboard leg drop on the back on Sami’s neck. The Champion reserved an incoming attack with a powerbomb. Later on, Carmelo almost suffered an Exploder, but he successfully dodged it by using his elbow to Sami’s face.
Hayes has been doing an excellent job countering Zayn’s ever move, he managed to avoid the Blue Thunderbomb and scored the First 48 for a near fall. So, Melo springboards with a back elbow to Zayn. Unfortunately for Carmelo, he missed with the Nothing but Net only to collide with the champ’s boot and triumphant Blue Thunderbomb to retain.
Winner: Sami Zayn
After Damian was attacked during his entrance last week by Aleister Black, he demanded a match with the man. Kit Wilson was talking to Aldis about toxic masculinity when Priest stormed in, following that interruption, Wilson attempted to verbally put Damian in his place and was thrown into a wall for his troubles. Ha! Priest was pissed.
I was wondering when Heyman and Lesnar were going to meet face-to-face without the Oracle looking frightened like he did multiple times in past when he came very close to being ripped to the bone by Brock if Roman Reigns hadn’t stepped in. “We should talk.” said Lesnar. Aldis came into the scene after Lesnar left to warn the Vision to not cause any disruptions knowing full well that a contract signing was about to take place. Heyman assured him that they’re intentions are purely peaceful.
I was surprised that McIntyre and Rhodes won a Tag Team Championship together in the past. Girl, what?? The most random thing I’ve heard this week. But none of that is important because Drew headbutted Cody for not only calling him a “keyboard warrior”, but someone who will be known as the guy who lost to Cody after all this whining. Even though he could have kicked Cody’s head into the commentary table again, Drew restrained himself to preserve the inevitability of Saturday.
Whatever calmness McIntyre had was blown out of the water once Rhodes got back to his feet and jumped him. As a final mark, Drew knocked Cody cold, then stumped on his head.
