Featuring a SmackDown Women’s championship match, and more qualifying matches for Survivor Series, this November 6th episode of SmackDown brings us one step closer to Survivor Series.
SmackDown Women’s Champion Sasha Banks VS Bayley for the SmackDown Women’s Championship
We start off the show with the SmackDown Women’s Championship match. They immediately lock up, with Banks getting the advantage with an arm drag for 1. Banks looks to lock in the Bank Statement early, but Bayley rolls away and out of the ring as we go to commercial.
When we come back, Banks is delivering the double knees in the corner for 2. Banks follows Bayley to the outside and delivers the double knees against the ringpost, but when she goes for it again, Bayley launches her into the air and she lands hard on the apron. Bayley rolls the champ back into the ring and pins her for 2. She stomps the Blueprint down in the corner, and slingshots her into the bottom rope for 2. Bayley locks in a headlock, but Banks fights out of it.
She slams Bayley’s head into the turnbuckle and delivers another double knees in the corner for 2. Bayley strikes back with a hard clothesline for 2, and looks for a superplex, but Banks tosses her off the ropes and delivers a meteora from the second rope. Bayley rolls to the outside, but Banks crashes onto her with a crossbody from the apron as we go to commercial.
When we come back, Bayley is looking for a superplex into the floor, but Sasha slips under her and looks for a powerbomb onto the announce table. Instead, Bayley uses a hurricanrana to toss Banks onto the table, and then tosses her back into the ring and looks for the flying elbow. Banks rips her off the top rope and then delivers a knee in the corner and an elbow on the apron.
The champ climbs to the top rope and delivers a Frog Splash, but only gets a close 2. Banks looks for a backstabber into the Bank Statement, but Bayley reverses it into a Bayley-to-Belly attempt. Banks reverses that into the Bank Statement, but Bayley rolls out of the ring and then tosses Banks into the barricade. Bayley pulls out a kendo stick and tosses it into the ring, but the ref tosses it out. While he’s distracted, Bayley brings a chair into the ring, but Banks kicks it out of her hands, kicks her in the head, and tosses the chair out as well.
Bayley recovers and delivers a backstabber and a Bayley-to-Belly for a very close 2 count. Bayley climbs to the top and delivers the flying elbow, but still only gets a 2. Bayley looks for her unnamed finisher, but Banks gets out of it and tosses her into the corner. Bayley delivers a knee and a back suplex, but only gets yet another 2. Bayley locks in the Bank Statement, but Banks reverses it into a jackknife cover for 2. Bayley follows Banks to the apron and looks to spear her, but instead crashes into the ringpost. Banks delivers a powerful pump kick, and then locks in the Bank Statement for the win.

As Banks celebrates her win on the ramp, Carmella ambushes her from behind with a superkick and an X-Factor. I’m so massively unexcited for that feud, but I guess it’s a good holdover until Bianca Belair builds up some more steam.
Backstage, Kevin Owens cracks some jokes about Jey being Reigns’ servant. Jey gets a little offended, and K.O leaves him to his interview with Kayla Braxton. She asks Jey about his actions last week against Daniel Bryan, but before he can really say anything, Paul Heyman interrupts. He says that Roman Reigns didn’t authorize this interview, and that the Tribal Chief needs to talk to Jey. The two depart rather swiftly, as Roman doesn’t like to be kept waiting.
Backstage, Rey Mysterio is trying to call Aaliyah before his match, but she isn’t picking up. His opponent, King Corbin, in true King Corbin fashion, ambushes him from behind and then hightails it out of there.
Paul Heyman makes it clear to Jey that he can’t do interviews unless he runs it by Reigns. The Universal Champ himself comes out and makes the hierarchy clear. He tells Jey that he shouldn’t take the disrespect from Kevin Owens, and Jey promises that he’ll take care of it. Reigns tells Heyman to go get Adam Pearce, saying that he’ll solve the K.O problem tonight.
Rey Mysterio (w/ Dominik Mysterio) VS King Corbin (Qualifying Match for Survivor Series)
Corbin starts off strong with a massive spinebuster for 2. He beats Mysterio down in the corner, and then tosses him to the outside. He beats him down with forearms on the outside, and brings him back in. Mysterio looks to fight back with some punches, but Corbin puts him right back down with a knee. He tosses him out to the floor again, and gloats in the ring. The King looks to charge into Mysterio, but Mysterio moves out of the way, and Corbin crashes into the steel steps. Mysterio brings him back into the ring and looks for a running attack, but Corbin drops him with an elbow. The King looks for a chokeslam, but Mysterio reverses into a rollup for 2. Before he can capitalize, Seth Rollins comes out, and just stands on the ramp to watch as we go to commercial.
When we come back, Mysterio is smashing Corbin into the ringpost on the outside. He brings him back in and delivers a springboard splash. Corbin uses his power to shove Mysterio into the corner. Mysterio fights back with a kick, and looks to deliver a springboard moonsault to Corbin, but he gets caught and spiked with a backbreaker for 2. The King puts Mysterio up on the top rope and looks for a superplex, but Mysterio tosses him off the ropes. He tries a crossbody, but gets caught and suffers two backbreakers and a slam for a 2 count.
Corbin brings Mysterio to the outside and slams him against the apron, and then brings him back inside and pins him for another 2. Corbin looks for a running punch, but Mysterio ducks it, and then gets caught in a bear hug. Mysterio escapes by biting him, ducks Corbin’s clothesline attempt, and delivers an enziguri and a seated senton. He gets fired up, delivering a series of basement dropkicks and another seated senton for 2.
Corbin looks for End of Days, but Mysterio reverses it into a drop toe hold. He goes for the 619, but Corbin rolls outside, and takes out Dominik while he’s out there. An enraged Mysterio delivers a wrecking ball dropkick and a flying crossbody. Corbin looks for a powerbomb, but Mysterio reverses it into another drop toe hold and delivers the 619. Rollins comes down and attacks Dominik, and Mysterio comes down and deals with him.
Aaliyah and Murphy come down to help, and Mysterio yells at them to go away as he gets back in the ring. Corbin takes advantage of the distraction and nails Mysterio with the End of Days for the win.

Zelina Vega VS Natalya VS Ruby Riott (Qualifying Match for Survivor Series)
Don’t know why Natalya is getting another chance to qualify for Survivor Series, but here we are. Vega starts off with a quick rollup on Ruby for 2, and Natalya does the same. Vega takes out Natalya, and delivers a brutal ax kick to Ruby. Natalya pulls Vega out of the ring, and Ruby rolls up Natalya for 2. Natalya slams Ruby and then locks in a submission, which Vega interrupts with a pin of Natalya for 2.
She delivers a massive hurricanrana to Natalya, but gets dizzy from it, allowing Ruby to take advantage with an STO. Ruby looks for a senton from the top rope, but Vega moves out of the way. Natalya locks in the Sharpshooter on Ruby, but Vega hits her with a bulldog, and delivers a charging knee strike to Ruby in the corner. She delivers the Spike Hurricanrana, but Ruby rolls out of the ring, and Natalya rolls Vega up from behind for 2.
She looks for the Discus clothesline, but Vega reverses it into a pin, which Natalya reverses into the Sharpshooter. Ruby comes in and locks in an armbar on Vega as well, but when Natalya lets go of the Sharpshooter to go get Ruby, Vega taps, giving Ruby the win. This SmackDown Women’s Survivor Series Team is so far been two people who I think deserve better, which is pretty great.

Backstage, Big E demolishes some poor backstage worker at Trivial Pursuit. The Street Profits come to talk to Big E, asking for tips on defeating the New Day at Survivor Series. Big E refuses to give them anything, but Billie Kay gives them a résumé, saying that she has some insight. The Street Profits politely decline.
Otis VS Seth Rollins (Qualifying Match for Survivor Series)
Otis has got a new country theme, but other than that he’s the exact same. Rollins starts out the match fast, beating down Otis. He makes the mistake of trying for an Irish Whip, which Otis reverses into his own with sheer power. He slams Rollins to the mat twice, and Rollins runs to the outside. Murphy comes down the ramp to stare down Rollins, and Otis takes advantage of the distraction by slamming Rollins into the turnbuckle.
Otis sends Rollins to the outside, right in front of Murphy, who stares Rollins down some more. Otis takes advantage again with a big tackle. He goes back into the ring, and gets caught by a slingblade from Rollins. The Messiah spears Otis in the corner, but it doesn’t faze Otis at all. He gets fired up with every kick from Rollins, and takes out Rollins with a series of shoulder tackles. He looks for an avalanche, but Rollins kicks him and looks for an attack from the top rope, but Otis catches him and tosses him halfway across the ring.
He crushes Rollins with an avalanche and looks for the Caterpillar, but Murphy climbs onto the apron. Rollins takes advantage of the distraction this time, delivering a Superkick and a Stomp for the win, thanks to the (accidental?) distraction from Murphy.

After the match, Rollins catches up with Murphy. He asks him if he’s back on his side, and Murphy responds with “Messiah, Disciple.” Aaliyah comes over and yells at Murphy, but he asks her to trust him, saying it’s for the Greater Good.
Michael Cole sits down with Lars Sullivan, who seems to have lost his shirt. He asks him about his experience with grade school bullies, and Lars says he hates bullies. Interesting, seeing as how you’re the textbook definition of one. He essentially says the exact same thing as last week., talking about how he shut up his bullies with violence. Lars Sullivan is the kind of guy who calls a girl pretty, runs out of the EB Games, and then makes an Instagram post about how women never go for “nice guys.” Wait, so I said different things about Lars than I did last week, and he just said the same things as last week, right? So yes, if you’re wondering, I am statistically more creative than whoever is writing these promos.
Jey Uso VS Kevin Owens
With Roman Reigns watching from backstage, Owens starts off strong, bulldozing through Jey with a tackle. He locks in a headlock, and slams Jey when he fights out of it. He follows it up with a senton for 2. Jey sends Owens outside and looks for a suicide dive, but Owens catches him with a punch. Jey fights back by hanging Owens up on the top rope. He looks again for the dive, but gets caught and slammed into the barricade. Owens punishes Jey with a Frog Splash off the apron as we go to commercial.
When we come back, Jey is stomping Owens in the corner. He looks for a Samoan Drop, but Owens reverses it into a neckbreaker for 2. Owens looks for a Frog Splash, but Paul Heyman comes out, providing a distraction, allowing Jey to superkick Owens off the top rope. Jey finally hits the suicide dive, and he slams him into the steel steps as well. He waits for him to get back in the ring and delivers another superkick. He tells Paul “that’s how we do things,” and precedes to beat down Owens.
He locks in a chinlock, and K.O fights out of it and delivers a massive Superkick of his own. He dodges an attack in the corner from Jey and delivers a cannonball, and then climbs to the top and delivers a Swanton Bomb for 2. He looks for the Pop-Up Powerbomb, but Jey escapes and delivers a kick and a neckbreaker for 2.
Jey climbs the ropes and looks for the Uso Splash, but K.O moves out of the way and delivers the Pop-Up Powerbomb. Jey rolls over to the ropes, and is able to get his foot on the ropes when Owens pins him. Roman Reigns’ music plays but he doesn’t come out. With the ref distracted, Jey delivers a low blow to K.O. He then delivers yet another Superkick and the Uso Splash for the win.

Roman Reigns’ music hits again, and he comes out for real this time, and he and his cousin stand triumphant.
