If you are feeling a but of deja vu it could be because you read our spoilers last Friday. Yes, this is a pre-taped Smackdown episode because the talent that need to be in Saudi Arabia are now in Saudi Arabia not in the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. No, they cannot be in two places at once. The multiverse is not a thing, at least not that we know of. Here is what the WWE taped last week and is passing off as live tonight. Burrrrn.
It is very curious that Hartwell is on tonight’s (last week’s) card but has now been released by WWE. They kept her tag team partner, the useless LeRae, but let Hartwell go? I am confused. What the heck happened?
Nia Jax thunders to the ring where that women’s Saudi Arabia title is sitting on display. The championship you will never hear about ever again. Nia reminds the crowd that she won Queen of the Ring in Saudi Arabia.
“Everything that gets in my way gets annihilated,” she proclaims.
Stratton: At Crown Jewel it is going to be Tiffy time!
Stratton enters the ring saying she hasn’t made up her mind who she is cashing in on. Nia shouldn’t get comfortable because she could cash in on her too. Nia is flustered.
“At Crown Jewel I am cashing in. I am taking home one of those titles,” says Tiffany. She asks Liv that if she wins her championship does Dom come with it? “I could use a little dirty in my life,” she laughs.
Nia splits the scene. Tiffany clobbers Liv so we have…
Tiffany Stratton versus Liv Morgan
Stratton tries to use the briefcase but Liv rolls her up for the win holding her trucks. Nia returns. Liv drop kicks Nia as she enters the ring. She hits Tiffany with the MIB briefcase. Nia clocks Liv. She hits Dom and Raquel with the briefcase. She then gives Liv the Annihilator.
Winner: Liv Morgan
Kevin Owens tells Randy Orton via video that he looks up to Randy. He doesn’t want to fight him. He is making him do something he doesn’t want to do.
The Street Profits versus Pretty Deadly
It is a battle of the forgotten tag teams that management doesn’t give two craps about, apparently. B-Fab gets involved slamming Prince to the arena floor. The Profits win with their Electric Chair (Dawkins) and Diving Blockbuster (Ford) combination.
Winners: The Street Profits
Backstage, Nia confronts Tiffany about her comments earlier. Tiffany explains that she just wants Liv to think she will cash in on Nia when that is not the case at all.
Didn’t Tiffany admitting that on camera just ruin her big plan?
Anyhow, Naomi and Bayley bump into them. Naomi tells Nia to keep the title warm for her.
Candice LeRae and Indi Hartwell versus Naomi and Bayley
Bayley crashes into Naomi on the apron. Naomi is declared the legal woman. Hartwell and LeRae have Bayley pinned but the official gives them the bad news. Naomi wins the match with the Drive-By. Graves complains that the official should have been counting out Naomi when she was knocked off the apron instead of letting the match go on and on.
Winners: Naomi and Bayley
Roman Reigns and Jimmy Uso head down to the ring. Jimmy reminds Roman that to be victorious they have to bury the hatchet and be united. He asks Roman to drop his beef with Jey.
“I made up with my brother. I squashed the beef with Jey. I am asking you to make up with my brother, your cousin,” Jimmy begs.
Roman asks for the microphone. Jey Uso’s music hits. The place goes mental. They took the IC title off this guy? Why?
Cole joins the crowd in cheering Jey on. Graves tells Cole to sit down. He might tear a rotator cuff.
Jey takes off his sunglasses to address Roman. He says he only took the fight to get back to Solo for what he has done to him and the family.
“Us three? It ain’t all the way fixed yet,” he says. Jey says he remembers what Roman did to him. The physical, emotional and psychological damage he endured.
“I still showed up because that’s what family does,” he says. “I am not your lackey or right-hand no more. I am your equal. All three of us are equals. If you treat me with the slightest disrespect, I am gone. Act like my cousin not my tribal chief.”
Roman takes some time to respond. He answers with one word: “Yeet!”.
The crowd begs them to hug it out. The Usos put up “the ones” and Roman joins them.
A-Town Down Under interrupt the tag team champions, The Motor City Machine Guns, backstage. They are invited to the Grayson Waller Effect next week on Smackdown. They agree but with some suspicion.
Iyo Sky versus Bianca Belair versus Lash Legend versus Piper Niven – Fatal 4-Way Match
Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill stop to chat before they break through the curtain. They say anyone is welcome to challenge for the titles, even contenders from NXT. This next match will prove why they are the champs. Niven is wearing X-Men inspired gear. Belair hits the KOD on Legend. Iyo takes out Belair with a moonsault from the top rope, races over and pins Legend.
Winner: Iyo Sky
Cody is in the locker room lacing up his boots. Randy appears. Cody asks Randy if he could save a little bit of Kevin Owens for him after Crown Jewel. Randy isn’t making promises as he isn’t sure there will be anything left of Owens once he is done with him.
Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton versus Gunther and Ludwig Kaiser
Rhodes is cut off from Orton for most of the match. Orton finally hot tags in. He hits the draping DDT on Gunther. Gunther blocks on RKO attempt though. It is Cody against Ludwig Kaiser. Orton RKOs Gunther as Cody puts Kaiser away with the Cross Rhodes. Gunther looks ticked as he lays on the floor.
All of a sudden, Kevin Owens attacks Orton with a chair from behind laying him out. Gunther chokes out Rhodes out with a sleeper. Security hits the ring but they cannot pry Gunther off Rhodes.
Winners: Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton
