It’s been a while since we’ve seen Tiffany Stratton, keeping in mind that she lost the Women’s Championship to Jade Cargill. People tend to disappear when they lose gold. Ha! Anyway, Stratton’s return got interrupted by Lash Legend and Nia Jax, also known as the Irresistible Forces. Plural. And Rhiyo, our Tag Team Champions given that these teams have a match coming up.
While Nia went after Iyo in the corner, Rhea came from behind to powerbomb her on top of her neck. Sky came flying down with a Moonsault that would have concluded the fight if Lash hadn’t shoved Ripley into the pin. It exploded like hell as Legend ricocheted Iyo to the main floor, the post, and the commentary desk. Whatever Lash was looking for under the ring, she got intercepted by Rhea’s drop kick. From there, the match lost control and was forced to end prematurely. An all out brawl ensued between the ladies as a pump kick from Lash to Rhea paused the opposition.
A table was the object Legend was searching for. Jax and Legend had Ripley laid on the furniture, ready for Nia to body splash her, luckily, Rhea fought her way out of it. Meanwhile, Iyo came back into the fray and delivered a crossbody to Jax through the table. Elsewhere, Lash speared Ripley through the barricade.
As time progresses within the MFTs, Solo Sikoa truly invoked a new version of ruthlessness since taking over. He came out to challenge Carmelo Hayes for the US Championship since Ilja Dragunov already had two chances and wasted both. Be that as it may, Ilja and Carmelo were ready for a fight given the MFTs were certainly looking for one.
From Sikoa’s behavior, Hayes was cocky enough to believe that he’ll be walking out with two titles being his US belt and one of the Tag Team Championships I suspect he wants Dragunov to hold the other. Solo unleached his family on Melo and Ilja, warning them that it didn’t need to be this way. Out of nowhere, Apollo Crews, Shinsuke Nakamura, and Matt Cardona lent some assistance.
Due to another brawl, Nick Aldis sanctioned a 10-man Tag Team match. Cardona connected with a Rough Ryder to JC Mateo and Solo Sikoa, but he was trampled by Talla Tonga’s massiveness. Ilja and Carmelo had to attempt a double team on Talla, yet the big man made swift work of them both. Double choke slams. Matt and Apollo tried their hand at overwhelming Talla, they were doing well, however, they needed help from Shinsuke to really put him down. Crews’ flying tactic finally squashed him.
Later on, Nakamura was being manhandled by JC with Tour of the Island. Given the duration of the fight, Ilja wasn’t able to lift Mateo into a German suplex, although, the attempt was impressive nonetheless. Torpedo Moscow and an H-Bomb did the trick… until Solo tossed Ilja towards the post. When Hayes came in to end Sikoa with Nothing but Net, Tama Tonga shoved him off the top and into a Samoan Spike. Dragunov striking Sikoa with Torpedo Moscow didn’t matter since Tama turned the lights out for Melo with a Cutthroat ending.
Alexa Bliss vs. Zelina Vega vs. Giulia – Elimination Chamber Qualifying match
Bliss was hoping to win big by going up top, but Giulia beat her there, followed by Zelina Vega. Since this didn’t work in Vega’s favor, she kept trying to inflict something permanent against Giulia, who kept headbutting her. Zelina blasted Giulia into the corner just as Alexa delivered an uppercut to Vega. The Women’s US Champion hit her knee when she collided with the turnbuckle, nevertheless, she had her limbs up right when Alexa was coming down with Twisted Bliss.
Vega capitalized with Code Red, yet that was interrupted by Bliss’ awareness. While Giulia was nursing her knee, Alexa came close to pinning Zelina with a DDT. The interception was caused by Giulia. She performed a Nothern Lights bomb on Bliss, but she failed to win due to Vega. She was doing well and had Giulia in her grasp, alas, Kiana James causing a distraction irritated Zelina to strike her. She also dodged Giulia as well. Unfortunately, Zelina was caught by Alexa’s winning Sister Abigail.
Winner: Alexa Bliss
Trick Williams vs. Rey Fenix
Fenix and Williams have been putting on a show to roaring admiration of the fans’ chanting. It became clear that it was difficult for Trick to have an answer for Rey’s precise kicks. He found himself fumbling constantly because of that. The full extend of Adios Amigos wasn’t initiated, but Rey was able to tire Trick some more. Two beautiful frog splashes weren’t enough to put Williams away. Nevertheless, Fenix left Trick gasping for air and Cheetos.
Later on, Trick ventured to the top as he tried to hoist Rey on his shoulders. It failed since Fenix managed to avoid disaster with a double stomp from the post onto the back closes to Williams’ collarbones. Although that looked painful, Trick stayed in the game. Rey was going for the Moonsault, Trick moved out of the way and nailed his opponent with a Trick Shot that turned him inside out after all of that zooming nonsense.
Winner: Trick Williams
Prior to the following title match, Liv Morgan accompanied by Intercontinental and AAA Mega Champion Dominik Mysterio decide to sit ringside for a Valentine’s Day date and have a closer look since Morgan hasn’t chosen who she’ll face at WrestleMania yet. Cargill didn’t do too much when she saw them, but her anger was definitely felt.
Jordynne Grace vs. Jade Cargill (c) – WWE Women’s Championship match
Grace delivered a harsh back hand, then lifted Jade and slammed her body down for a two count. That clearly devasted her that she sat there and looked like she was praying for a second. Jordynne had Cargill on her shoulders, the champ slipped through the back and kicked her challenger in the jaw. A spine buster from Jordynne was incredible, but Jade dodged the powerbomb to deliver a spine buster of her own.
Grace ducked out of a pump kick attempt and went for a roll up that Jade escaped from. Jordynne really was amazing that she managed to perform a driver despite the complexities leading up to it. I’m not sure what Grace was planning on doing when she had Cargill on her shoulders again, going for Beast Mode apparently, but the champ released the grip, so she could retain with Jaded. Liv seemed surpringly ineffected by Cargill’s post-threat.
Winner: Jade Cargill
Backstage, Nick Aldis gave Damian Priest the good news that next week, he’ll be in a Triple Treat match to qualify for the Elimination Chamber against Trick Williams and Carmelo Hayes. That’s great news, sadly the festivities were bulldozed by Kit Wilson’s ongoing pursuit in addressing toxic masculinity. Tonight, we have a poem:
Monday Night Raw is red
SmackDown is blue
Real men express feelings, unlike you
You reward meatheads
Your leadership obnoxious
Wake up, Nick. You are toxic
R-Truth going “woah” in the middle of the poem made Damian and myself laugh. He was actually impressed. His counter to that was:
Violets are blue
and Roses are red
Did y’all see last week when Oba put Kit on his head?
He said he’s a real man
Dog, you can’t even go
Uh-oh, I think you lost your manhood
Cause I see a camel toe
This man’s crusade isn’t over since he later stormed into a meeting Aldis was having with the very guy who beat his ass last week, Oba Femi. He was welcoming Femi to SmackDown when Kit came in with more poetry. Nick was happy to do some reading, too. This one was written for Oba.
Roses are red, but I don’t give a damn
You may be big and strong, but really, you’re an insecure little man
Your actions are toxic, it’s plain to see
You’re no match for a real man; a real man like me
You march, and you stomp into every town
They’re laughing at you, you sad little clown
Since we’re on the topic of feelings, Femi proposed that he and WIlson meet in the ring to discuss them further. Kit’s reply: “Toxic!” as he sashays away. This was particularly entertaining.
Sami Zayn vs. Jacob Fatu vs. Cody Rhodes – Elimination Chamber Qualifying match
As Sami gave himself a little pep-talk, the moment Jacob Fatu’s music played, his face went sour. He knew very well who this was. If anything, Zayn was placed in the middle of Rhodes and Fatu’s beef since they ignored his ass like it didn’t exist. Jacob made sure of that when he Super Kicked Sami out of the ring, so he and Cody could focus on each other. How rude. Ha! It didn’t take long for Fatu to gain the upper hand on Rhodes in the early goings. At least this gives Sami some time to recoperate.
Anyway, Fatu avoided a Cody Cutter and delivered a side kick to the face of the American Nightmare. As payback, Jacob missed with a Senton. Zayn reentered the ring to brawl with Rhodes, to which Sami sent Cody to the outside. He followed suit with a high flying maneuver onto both men. The recovery time for Fatu was less than a minute when he came back in full force towards Cody. Sami was still somewhere in the background cathcing his breath.
Fatu and Zayn endure double snap suplexes at the hands of Rhodes. While Jacob rolled to the outside, Sami was left with Cody. He was going for the Blue Thunderbomb, but Rhodes came back with a Disaster Kick. As we continue, Cody was looking for Crossroads, Sami countered with a knee to the forehead and was setting up the Exploder, but Fatu came speeding in their direction and squashed them in the corner.
A counter for counter between Rhodes and Zayn removed their focus off Fatu, who rammed them like sheep. Due to previous assaults, Sami and Cody double teamed on Jacob with a superplex from the top. The ring shock on itself, For now, Cody and Sami are left alone as Zayn performed that Exploder. Just as Sami was setting his challenger for the Helluva Kick, Jacob put them both down with Super Kicks. A modified Helluva Kick to the back of Fatu’s head stunned him to flobber to the floor.
Sami came very close to winning, even though, he missed with the Helluva Kick. Jacob’s reflexes were astonishing, nevertheless, he was nearly pinned. Rhodes swooped back in and laid Sami out, but it was Fatu who went in to capitalize. Annoyingly so, a Claymore from Drew McIntyre broke the count. The Scottish Warrior made it clear that he had no desire to defend his title against Jacob, hence the tossing and beating. They’re lucky this a Triple Treat match, otherwise, the fight would have ended due to McIntyre’s interference if not Rhodes jumping after him.
Drew, after slamming Cody’s head against the post, went and powerbombed Fatu through the commentary table, According to the microphone screaming, Jacob was done. McIntyre dragged Sami’s body onto Cody, yet Rhodes got his shoulder up. Drew was so irate that he continued to batter the American Nightmare with all his might. If only Sami hadn’t kicked Drew, rather Cody, then he would be going to the Elimination Chamber. Personally, I wanted Fatu to win.
Winner: Cody Rhodes
