Ryohei Oiwa comes to the ring with his head gear celebrating Hiroyoshi Tenzan, with horns and everything. Tenzen wrestled his last match yesterday.
Uemura has Oiwa’s arm. Oiwa escapes with a Tenzan Suplex, which seems quite appropriate. Uemura tries to take hold of Oiwa again but Oiwa clotheslines him down to the mat hard. A head butt and two Grip Clotheslines drop Uemura. Uemura cannot escape the Grip headlock and submits.
At the announce table Tenzan can be seen getting very emotional. Uemura gets up and raises Oiwa’s hand in victory. Oiwa receives the trophy and now will get a world championship match for his efforts.
Oiwa praised Uemura and wants to continue their rivalry because it pushes them and thrills the fans.
“It means so much to me to win this title with you sitting at ringside and I could not be happier,” said Oiwa to Tenzan.
Oiwa confirmed what his goals are.
“I will challenge for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship and I will take a Grip on that belt,” he promised.
The rest of TMDK celebrated with Oiwa. Oiwa had to beat Boltin, Goto, O-Khan, Lee, Sanada, Takeshita and Uemura to win the crown. He lost to Takagi, Tsuji and Ice.
Jeff Cobb made his return to NJPW targeting United Empire’s leader, Callum Newman.
Embarrassed by Nagai during their match, Newman blindsides him. He throws him into a ringside barricade, hits him with Excalibur and puts a sword to his throat back in the ring.
Gedo comes into the ring begging Newman to stop.
“Calm down. Calm down, please. Let me tell you, I know you are strong. People know you are strong. What are you doing? You need to fix your attitude. You know what? This man can fix your attitude,” said Gedo.
Out came Jeff Cobb! He gets in Newman’s face and takes him down with a shoulder tackle.
“It ain’t over! You have put the Empire down!” yelled Cobb.
Newman rolled out of the ring.
“Where are you going?” asked Cobb.
Cobb then bumped fists with Gedo meaning he has joined Unbound.
