NXT Roadblock: Breakker calls out Hayes & Perez faces a Legend

Greetings and salutations! It’s the final roadblock on the road to Stand and Deliver. This show has had some good build and the main event of Roxanne Perez versus Meiko Satomura will be a classic. Other matches on the card include the former members of Toxic Attraction, Gigi Dolin, and Jayce Jayne going at it, Tony D’Angelo going up against Dijak in a jailhouse match, and Grayson Waller confronting Shawn Michaels in the Waller Effect. We have a full card so without further ado, let’s get to it.

The show started with Tiffany Stratton introducing the show and every match. During her preview, she talked about how she’s coming for the NXT Women’s Title during WrestleMania weekend at Stand and Deliver on April 1.

Tony D’Angelo (w/Channing Lorenzo) VS Dijak in a Jailhouse Street Fight

The match started with Dijak swining a baton at Stacks and taking him out. Dijak tried to attack D’Angelo with the baton but it was blocked and Dijak gets clotheslined to the outside. D’Angelo goes after him and hits a belly-to-belly on the outside. D’Angelo walks Dijak over to the cage but Dijak throat punched him to ensure the match continues. Tony was thrown to the cage and he also gave Dijak a punch to the chest to ensure the cage door doesn’t close. Dijak takes out Stacks again. Back in the ring Dijak hit D’Angelo with a sitout chokeslam. Dijak then throws a bunch of chairs into the ring and used one against D’Angelo. Dijak begins to throw and a bunch of chairs onto D’Angelo but D’Angelo recovered and rushed to stop Dijak on the top rope and hit a Super-Belly-to-belly on Dijak as we head to commercial.

Dijak hit D’Angelo with a spinning elbow that put him on a table that was set up during the commercial. Dijak now with a slingshot elbow drop from the ring to D’Angelo on the table on the outside. Dijak then threw D’Angelo in the cage and was about to win until D’Angelo twisted the previously broken finger from Vengeance Day. DAngelo now with the advantage as he hit a Book End and put Dijak in the cage. D’Angelo was about to close the door but Stacks, standing too close to the cage was grabbed by Dijak and put in the way of the door. Dijak teased D’Angelo and eventually tossed him out of the way to keep the match going.

Dijak tossed Stacks over the barricade and this distraction gave D’Angelo an opening to suplex Dijak and hit him with a few chair shot. D’Angelo was about to toss Dijak in the cage but was low blowed via a mule kick to stope the attack. Dijak hit a Feast Your Eyes. Dijak throws D’Angelo in the cage but Stacks jumps in the way of the door being closed. Dijak hit a Feast Your Eyes on Stacks. D’Angelo now has a crowbar and hit Dijak with it. Tony threw Dijak in the Cage and closed the door for the win!

Winner: Tony D’Angelo

The hardest working reporter in all of professional wrestling, McKenzie Mitchell was with Roxanne Perez. Perez was asked about her match with the legendary Meiko Satomura. Perez said that she is anxious and even though she has a loss against Satomura, she has been training harder than ever and pushing through her physical limits. Perez said that while this might not be her first title defense, it is her most important one. Perez said she wants to make it to Stand and Deliver on Mania weekend still champ, beating a legend on the way. Perez said she was nervous and anxious but will do anything she has to to keep the title.

Pretty Deadly and Gallus were shown heading to the ring from different parts of the Performance Center

Kiana James was giving her assistant some work when Josh Briggs comes in. He says he doesn’t want to get in anyone’s business, but says Brooks Jensen’s happiness is his happiness. James said she understands and thinks they’re finally starting to click again after some miscommunications over the last few weeks. Briggs notices and points to some roses on her desk and says he’s in love with her. James takes the card though and hides it in her day planner. James said she still feels things are a bit off and she keeps looking at the planner with the card in it all nervous. James agrees to making plans for a make up date with Jensen and Briggs walks away happy.

Gallus calls out Pretty Deadly

NXT Tag champs, Gallus were in the ring with mic’s in hand. Gallus gets to the point real fast and they call out Pretty Deadly. Pretty Deadly come out on the Crow’s Nest. Kit Wilson called both members of Gallus ugly and disgusting. Mark Coffey reminded Pretty Deadly that this was supposed to be a face-to-face. Pretty Elton Prince said that Pretty Deadly want the belts back and their time in NXT have been ruined since Gallus has been around. Wolfgang told Pretty Deadly that they are always ready for a fight. Mark laid down the tag titles and told Pretty Deadly to “come and take them”. Pretty Deadly said they were down for a fight. Pretty Deadly walked down to the ring and were about to tussle with Gallus until Gallus threw them around making Pretty Deadly run out of the ring as Gallus posed with the belts in the ring.

A Lyra Valkyria promo airs. Valkyria mentions that she and Meiko Satomura will meet again. She tells Roxanne Perez they’re on different paths but fate decided they should collide. She says that her sights will be set on whomever wins the NXT Women’s Title match later tonight.

Ilja Dragunov is seen and he said the eyes are windows to the soul and JD McDonagh has no soul. Ilja said that while JD finds serenity by breaking bones, JD will not break him. Ilja said that JD will not break him. Ilja said something in Russian that seemed angry.

New NXT Signee and former New Japan wrestler Dragon Lee was shown in the crowd

Julius Creed, Brutus Creed, and NXT Champion Bron Breakker VS “Indus Sher” Veer Mahan, Sanga, and Jinder Mahal

Veer started the match and took advantage Breakker early on. Breakker tried to come back with a shoulder Tackle. Julius gets in the match and got a Belly-to-Belly Suplex on Veer. Brutus tagged in Julius gives him a Gutwrench-Suplex landing on Veer and this was good for a 2-count. Veer had enough time to tag Mahal in to the match. Mahal goes for a Suplex but it was reversed into a Suplex for Brutus. Mahal quikcly retreats and tags in Sanga. Brutus tagged Breakker back in. Breakker went for punches on Sanga but this didn’t even phase the big man. Breakker got tossed around the ring a bit and he eventually hits Sanga with a jumping chest tackle that took him outside of the ring.

During the break, Carmelo Hayes joined Vic and Booker at the commentary desk. Sanga and Julius were in the ring. Sanga got the upperhand with a high angle hip toss. Mahal tagged back in the match and went for a Legdrop but no one was home but that didn’t phase Mahal for too long as he hit a running knee on Julius. Now Mahal goes for a Camel Clutch. Julius found a way out and both teams tag in new people. Veer and Brutus are now legal. Brutus cleans house with hammerfists but Sanga hit a hip strike to take Brutus down. Sanga was back in the match and threw Brutus right into Breakker causing him to fall off the apron. Brutus now angry, comes back and hits Sanga with a ton of offense including a tuck tackle, suplex and Senton. Julius in the match and connects with a 450 splash on Sanga. Veer broke up the pin attempt to keep the match going.

Veer tagged in and huts Julius with an Elbow drop after Sanga took out all his opponents. Breakker stops the pin attempt. Sanga hit Julius with a chokeslam. Veer hits Julius with a Lariat for a 2-count. All 6 men then got back up to the center of the ring and all started punching back and forth. Breakker with a Spear on Mahal and Sanga. Veer with a Yakuza Kick to Breakker. Julius put Veer in an Electric Chair and Brutus with a Doomsday Brutus Ball for the pin and the win!

Winners: Brutus Creed, Julius Creed, and Bron Breakker

Grayson Waller was shown heading to the ring and the camera cuts to Matt Bloom with Shawn Michaels. Bloom asks Michaels if he really wants to do this and Shawn said he’s not sure, but he’s got this.

Grayson Waller’s Waller Effect

Grayson Waller is in the ring with his Grayson Waller Effect set in the ring. He calls this the most important Grayson Waller Effect of all-time. He then introduces his guest, “The Heartbreak Kid” Shawn Michaels. HBK comes out to a huge ovation from the NXT faithful. The crowd sings HBK’s song before anyone even says anything. Waller said that if he was 10 years old he would be singing with the crowd but then he became more of a Bret Hart guy than a Shawn Michaels guy. Michaels starts things off praising Waller and saying that they used to be cool. HBK asks Waller what happened that changed. Waller then said that as he was climbing the ladder and becoming the number one guy in NXT HBK started treating him the same way Vince McMahon treated him because he didn’t fit the image that “the powers that be” had for a top star.

HBK didn’t like that and said that the reason Waller isn’t “the guy” is because he took his shot at Vengeance Day against Breakker and missed. He also said that what happened at New Year’s Evil wasn’t his fault and the guy Waller needs to criticize is the guy in the mirror. Waller says maybe HBK should do the same. He says the only reason Michaels is sitting where he is behind-the-scenes in NXT is because his best friend [Triple H] had a heart attack. HBK says Waller is right, he’s only in the position he is because his friend asked him for help. The back-and-forth shots continues until HBK stands up from his seat and shouts, “Enough!”

Waller then challenges HBK to one more match at Stand and Deliver. HBK says for over a decade he’s had many challenge him for a WrestleMania dream match and asks if Waller thinks he’s so special. He then said that people have been backing Brinks trucks up to his door for years trying to get a WrestleMania match from Mr. WrestleMania that the drivers know his address by heart now. HBK once again asks if Waller thinks he’s special. HBK says nothing would make him happier than whooping his ass at NXT Stand & Deliver but the reality is, there’s someone who wants to kick his ass even more. He then says Waller will get his wish for a match at NXT Stand & Deliver but his opponent won’t be Shawn Michaels, it will be this man

… Johnny Gargano’s music hits and out comes Johnny Wrestling running to the ring and beats down Waller. The crowd is going nuts and this is all payback from December 2021 when Waller took out Gargano after War Games. There we go!

Gigi Dolin vs. Jacy Jayne

Gigi gets the match started early as she tackles Jayne down. The match goes all over the ringside as Gigi is out for blood after being betrayed. They make their way back to the ring and Gigi hit Jayne with a clothesline. Jayne tried to keep running away but Gigi stalked her opponent and always caught up to her and laid a beat down when she could. Jayne asked for a timeout and hit Gigi with a Discus Forearm. Jayne then went to get a chair but Gigi hits Jayne with a kick.

Jayne now with some offense on Gigi but Gigi just came right back with an inside Cradle. Gigi continues to kick and punch Jayne. Gigi connects with some brutal kciks but Jayne came back with a neckbreaker. Jayne then hit Gigi with a Senton but this was only good for a 2-count. The two keep going back and forth and Gigi hit Jayne with a rollup slam for the pinfall win!

Winner: Gigi Dolin

After the match, Jacy Jayne attacked Gigi Dolin and brought out the chair again. She keeps beating her and put the chair around her neck but NXT refs and suits came out to stop the attack.

Fallon Henley was with Brooks Jensen and apologized. Brooks apologized back. Josh Briggs showed up and said he fixed things up with Kiana James and said that he liked the flowers Jensen sent her. Jensen said he doesn’t care about what’s on Kiana’s desk, meaning he didn’t send them….Jensen picked up the phone as James called him. Brooks left while talking on the phone and then Henley said she knew the flowers weren’t from Jensen. Briggs said he actually believes Fallon this time and they both agree they need to do something to get the truth out of James.

Bron Breakker Speaks

Breakker comes to the ring after a commercial break with no music. Bron took the mic and said it was time. He quicky challenged Carmelo Hayes to a match at Stand and Deliver saying that he’s ready for the toughest challenge on the biggest stage possible. Hayes comes out to confront Breakker. Breakker said that their journey’s have been separate but he has known that their meeting would be inevitable. Breakker said that he has kept tabs on Hayes. Hayes said he has done the same. They tlaka bout a meeting months ago when they were told of changes to NXT and they were hand picked as the stars of the brand. They both agree that its time for a showdown to see who the real top dog of NXT is. Hayes and Breakker shake hands as the match is official!

Thea Hail is doing some yoga and meditating with Tyler Bate when the rest of Chase U shows up. Thea is relieved and ready. Chase was happy that Hail was feeling better and Bate said that Thea Hail is a Big Strong Girl, and she’s got this. Chase and Hail left, with Chase saying “namaste” to Bate.

Andre Chase (w/Thea Hail, Duke Hudson) vs. Joe Gacy (w/Ava Raine, Rip Fowler, Jagger Reid)

Chase hit Gacy with a legsweep, some kicks and a Side Effect for a 2-count. Both men traded forearms and superkicks. Gacy hits Chase with a Uranage. Both men continue to trade strikes from their knees with Gacy getting the upper hand but it was Chase who hit Gacy with a Sunset Bomb in the corner for a very close pin attempt. Hail did some of her breathing exercises and then got in Ava Raine’s face. Hudson and Chase were happy that Hail overcame her fears BUT Chase was completely distracted as Gacy set up and hit his handstand lariat which also gave him the win.

Winner: Joe Gacy

Isla Dawn and Alba Fyre talk about the downfall of former longtime NXT Women’s Tag-Team Champions Kayden Carter and Katana Chance along with Tatum Paxley and Ivy Nile. They say next week they march forward towards claiming their goal which is the NXT Women’s tag Team Titles.

Chase U is walking backstage and Thea Hail talks about her finally overcoming her fears. Chase is happy for her but Duke Hudson is angry and snaps. Hudson says he’s sick of celebrating losses. He says Chase U is a joke.

The hardest working reporter in all of professional wreslting, McKenzie Mitchell is interviewing NXT North American Champion Wes Lee. He talks about Nathan Frazier and his match from last week. He then says he wants to do it again and announces he’ll do another open challenge. Axiom shows up and tells Lee that next week it’s gonna be them two sharing the ring. Lee says if he makes it to the ring first next week, then it’s on.

NXT Women’s Championship: Roxanne Perez (C) vs. Meiko Satomura

Roxanne and Meiko go face-to-face in the middle of the ring and shake hands. When we return from the break, we see Satomura is controlling the action as it was very much a 50/50 match to start. Perez brings down Satomura and sends her out to the floor. Perez with a Suicide Dive but Satomura hits Perez as she jumps through the middle ropes. Satomura throws Perez back in the ring and works her over. Satomura starts to put her striking arsenal on display and the crowd is getting loud chanting “Roxy”.

Satomura misses a flipping Scorpio Rising and Perez hits her with a drop kick that sends her out to the floor. Perez now with a dive attempt again and she nails Satomura on the outside of the ring. Back in the ring, Perez works her over some more but Satomura comes right back. Satomura takes Perez to the top rope and was looking for a super-plex but Perez avoids it and looks to hit a Russian leg-sweep off the top but Satomura avoids that. Perez tries power-bombing Satomura off the ropes but Satomura elbows her way free and kicks Perez down and climbs back up then leaps off but lands on the knees of the champ on the way down. Perez goes for an inside cradle but Satomura kicks out for a very close 2-count.

Perez hits a Russian leg-sweep and goes for the pin fall attempt, but Satomura kicks out. Satomura comes back and takes control of the match again. She had an answer to all of Perez’s offense. As Satomura worked over the champ, Perez elbows her way free but Satomura snatches her up and hit Perez with a power bomb and Pele Kick. Satomura hit Perez with a Saito Suplex for a 2-count and then hit Perez with a handstand legdrop for a nearfall which was how Satomura won the NXT UK title. Perez and Satomura fight on the apron and Perez sends the challnger crashing on the post sending her off the apron. Perez sets up a Pop Rocks but Satomura blocked it by holding the apron. Satomura hit Perez with Scorpio Rising on the outside and dragged the champs lifeless body into the ring for a pinfall attmept but it was brken as Perez got her foot on the bottom rope for the break. Meiko was about to go for another Scorpion Rising, but Perez reversed it with a rollup for the surprise win!

Winner: AND STILL NXT Women’s Champion, Roxanne Perez.

Meiko took the belt from the referee and handed it to Perez out of respect. As they posed in the ring Perez passed out. The referees ran out to check on Perez and they called for medics to check on Perez. Booker T entered the ring to check on his student. The medics stretchered Perez while also giving her oxygen. Shawn Michaels helped roll Perez to the back. Perez nodded to say she was ok. Perez was rolled to an ambulance to close the show…..
