Vic Joseph announces a sold-out attendance at Houston, Texas’ 713 Music Hall, where a few thousand fans pack in for Booker T Appreciation Night. Booker T enters the lot in a giant Tesla Cybertruck, greeted by his Reality of Wrestling trainees for a hometown celebration. In addition to being on the road, Houston gives NXT a taste of national opinion, away from the weekly Orlando bubble.
Sol Ruca vs Zaria vs Jacy Jayne (c) – NXT Women’s Championship
“Sol Ruca” chants break out, retaining her momentum interstate. She breaks a pinfall with a springboard splash and takes Fatal Influence out ringside – not getting all of the handspring dive. Jayne controls through most of picture-in-picture until ZaRuca has their aura-off. Zaria inadvertently spears the champion, and Ruca hits her own on the former. They hit the obligatory Tower of Doom for “this is awesome” chants, and Ruca eventually hits the signature Sol Snatcher. Zaria breaks it and delivers an F5 to Ruca ringside. She hits another on Fallon Henley, and meanwhile, Jayne steals the victory to retain, heading into Stand & Deliver as champion.
Winner: Jacy Jayne
“Who will be the next superstar in the path of Jacy Jayne?” Joseph foreshadows before Kendal Grey, who recently vacated her Evolve Women’s Championship, appears in the back. She hypes Wren Sinclair for her Speed Women’s Championship match before Birthright interrupts; new member Charlie Dempsey says he found better. AAA Mixed Tag Team Champion Lola Vice comes in next, staking her claim at Jayne despite Grey’s positioning.
Ricky Saints makes a superstar entrance until he trips on the second rope. “He can slip, but he never falls,” Saints says. Houston starts the “what” chants, and Saints suggests saving it for deaf Myles Borne. Ethan Page interrupts: “This part might’ve slipped your mind – I’m the guy that pinned Joe Hendry.” Page breaks “the plan” and aims for the NXT Championship, and provoked, Hendry of course appears. The champion instigates between the current frenemies and former rivals, but Saints and Page regroup to take down Hendry. The latter slams them both, but Tony D’Angelo spears him during the hard-cam pose. D’Angelo hits spinebusters on the others, and the NXT Championship picture widens.
Footage from last week shows Fit Finlay and William Regal with Birthright, and the latter suggests winning the tag team tournament. Regal pulls aside Interim General Manager Robert Stone and informs him of speaking to Shawn Michaels; former NXT General Manager Regal gives Stone the gesture of approval for permanence.
El Grande Americano and Los Americanos vs The Vanity Project
Americano and the Americanos get a AAA-level warm welcome from Houston – their opposition not so much. Rayo and Bravo showcase excellent lucha libre for two European catch wrestlers, getting Houston to count 10 punches in Spanish. Bravo especially seems to enjoy this. The Vanity Project garners jeers with a cha cha, but the Americanos recuperate with outside dives.
After break, Jackson Drake delivers Three Amigos before Americano makes a comeback. Bravo hits the familiar airplane spin, Rayo joins him for stereo dives, and Americano connects with an Airaid Crash on Brad Baylor. Drake hits his own springboard somersault, Burning Hammer and 450 Splash for two. Americano hulks up with Houston behind him, and with the referee distracted, loads the mask, eventually hitting Ricky Smokes for victory. The fake luchadors evidently do good lucha things.
Winners: El Grande Americano and Los Americanos
Sean Legacy tells Stone he’s medically uncleared to compete in the tag team tournament, and Speed Champion Elio LeFleur offers to be Eli Knight’s partner against The Culling next week. Sol Ruca steps in, demanding time to confront Zaria on the same show.
Vic Joseph hosts the Booker T Appreciation Night segment in-ring, where Queen Sharmell and their kids are present. A “Thank You Booker T” package highlights his WCW championship accolades, the Steve Austin supermarket fight, King of the Ring, and his current involvement in the Performance Center. Competitors like Stephanie Vaquer and Trick Williams thank him for his passion on commentary, and The Usos and Roxanne Perez thank him for his hand in training. Joseph, alongside two Reality of Wrestling students, present a commemorative plaque to the teary-eyed Booker T.
Keanu Carver, rival of Booker T’s WWE LFG mentee Jasper Troy, interrupts and takes out his students. Troy makes the save, clotheslining Carver over the ropes, allowing the roster to appear and applaud. Booker T yells at Stone anyway, demanding order in his city.
Wren Sinclair vs Fallon Henley (c) – Women’s Speed Championship
Championship introductions happen immediately after picture-in-picture, and Sinclair gets a home-state pop. Despite the five-minute time limit, they’re less speedy than the division norm. They trade reversals at the two-minute mark, ultimately leading to Final Wrench for victory.
Winner: Wren Sinclair
Saints and Page complain to Stone about Hendry and D’Angelo. Page throws Saints into a match next against the latter, and “Absolute” begrudgingly agrees. Saints throws Page into his corner, both aiming to take out NXT’s vigilante.
Hank and Tank vs Birthright – Tag Team Tournament
Birthright debut their faction theme song, and Stacks and Uriah Connors serve as tonight’s duo. They stifle the opposition’s energy until Tank Ledger makes a comeback, hitting a senton on Charlie Dempsey and Lexis King ringside. Hank Walker hits a Swanton on Stacks, and Connors breaks a pin with his own. Walker connects with a whirlwind Big Boss Slam, and King eats the Honk Honk for his boys. Connors capitalizes with a roll-up, and Birthright advances through the tournament.
Winners: Birthright
Hendry demands a match with D’Angelo next week, but Stone says the hot commodity is taken by Saints. Meanwhile, cameras catch a parking lot brawl between OTM and DarkState, where Lucien Price is pounced off a loading dock through tables.
After break, Thea Hail gives Women’s North American Champion Tatum Paxley a pep talk for tonight’s main event. Kehlani Jordan tells Hail to start being selfish, and Jaida Parker comes to the latter’s side. Hail stand up for herself, vowing to tap out Jordan next week.
A frustrated Fallon Henley sets a match between herself and Lainey Reid against Wren Sinclair and Kendal Grey. “We all know Jacy’s not gonna have a match before Stand & Deliver,” Jayne says.
The busy general manager Stone tells North American Champion Myles Borne about next week’s gauntlet eliminator to determine his Stand & Deliver opponent. Birthright interrupts, and Lexis King insists upon his Birthright.
Sexyy Red makes her NXT return at Stand & Deliver in St. Louis. Booker T screams out, getting his last gift on Booker T Appreciation Night.
Izzi Dame vs Tatum Paxley (c) – Steel Cage Match for the Women’s North American Championship
Dame blindsides the champion, who’s yet another Texan, ringside before the bell rings. Dame’s steel chair works against her, and she attempts to escape the cage. They throw their heads into the chain, finally bumping to the mat after a minute on the ropes. After break, they trade seated shots atop the cage, and Dame brings her down for a superplex. Paxley’s mom watches ringside, getting to see her Whisper in the Wind. Paxley flips out of a Codebreaker, but Dame connects with a powerbomb and multiple chair shots. Paxley lightly connects with a Code Red onto the chair and a Rolling Thunder Kick, leading to Sematary Drive for victory.
Winner: Tatum Paxley
Paxley looks to stand tall, definitively ending her rivalry with The Culling. But from underneath the stage, Blake Monroe yanks her, raising the Women’s North American Championship belt up ahead of Stand & Deliver.
