Glad to see NXT pay tribute to Benjamin Satterley (Neville, Pac) before their broadcast but he had some of his best matches in NXT. You would think they could have put together a video package…but…
EARLIER TODAY: GM Stone meets with NXT Champion Grayson Waller…out in the street somewhere? Stone says that he has just been informed that Mason Rook is “out for the foreseeable future”. Grayson is about to walk away but Stone informs him he will be defending his title after all tonight in an Open Challenge.

Thea Hail versus Zaria (c) – NXT Women’s North American Championship Match
In a really cool move, Hail turns Zaria’s spear into a Kimura Lock but she cannot lock her legs together. Zaria powers up Hail on her shoulders for an F5. Hail rolls her up. When Zaria kicks her off she lands throat-first on the ropes. Zaria hits a spear and an F5.
Winner: …and still NXT Women’s North American Champion, Zaria
Romeo Moreno and Noam Dar chat with El Hijo De Dr. Wagner Jr. and Galeno ( AAA World Tag Team Champions) backstage about the Dusty Cup. Fraxiom interrupts. They and Dar, Moreno have some friendly, competitive banter. The NXT Tag Team Champions, The Vanity Project appear and so the bragging begins.
This goes on far toooo long. Myles Borne speaks to the NXT Universe. He said he didn’t come out with the plan to backstab Tavion Heights but apologizing to him took him back to the man he didn’t want to be. He just wants to be Myles Borne. He is putting himself first now. He is done being the bigger person.
Lizzy Rain meets with Stone. He has some good news for her later tonight. Chazz “Star Boy” Hall and Mini Vikingo walk right in. Stone knows it is their first time teaming up so he gives them a pep talk. They are the team that will represent Evolve and AAA.
Waller talks with Emily Agard. He says Rook didn’t have to quit tonight because the “doctors did that for him”. He doesn’t think there is any man on the NXT roster who is hungry enough to take the belt away from him tonight.
BirthRight (Stacks and Uriah Connors) versus Chazz “Star Boy” Hall and Mini Vikingo – Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Match – First Round
Star Boy flips and flips kicking Connors in the head knocking him off the top rope to the floor. Vikingo splashes Connors on the floor. Star Boy gives Stacks a Tornado DDT. Vikingo pins him with his Phoenix 630.
BirthRight attacks them after the match. Zilla Fatu saves the day driving BirthRight off. He says he will take them all out one by one.

A very emotional Cruz Montana segment. He talks about living in gang territories. He helped his teenage mom raise his siblings. He admits his mother was a drug dealer. He says he is proud of her because she was never addicted nor spent any time in jail. Today, she is the greatest version of herself.
He holds up his necklace. It has his father’s picture in it. He was told at 12 by the time he was 25, he would be blind. He was born when he dad was 17. He admits his dad “drowned himself in his demons”. Before his dad died, he told him that his presence alone was the biggest present he was ever given. He begins to cry.
Montana talks about his own struggles. That he had to tell his own daughter he was a drug-addict and alcoholic. He checked into rehab and he got on the right path. He used the bottom to climb to the top. He tells Dion that he started this and now Cruz is going to finish it.
Zaria walks through the women’s locker room staring everyone down. Someone has decorated Zaria’s space with pictures of what she used to look like and there a pink dress hanging there too.
“I am not that girl anymore. Quit looking!” she shouts.
NXT Women’s Champion Kelani Jordan speaks to the NXT Universe. She wants to know who she will face next. Stone comes out. Next week, there will be a 20-Women Battle Royal to find her a new challenger. There will be superstars from Raw, Smackdown, TNA, Evolve and AAA in it.
Reina Volcán clobbers Jordan from behind. She nails a clothesline and flying elbow drop. She announces she is a “force of nature” and is in the Battle Royal next week.
Time for Naraku to meet with Stone. He wants to challenge Waller tonight. Saquon Shugars disagrees. It should be him tonight. Stone tells Shugars he has a match with Tristan Angels in two weeks.
Fraxiom versus DarkState – Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Match – First Round
Fraxiom both put Cutler on the top rope. Axiom hits a Spanish Fly from the top rope. Nathan Frazer pins him with the Phoenix Splash.
Winners: Fraxiom
More of Kendal Grey’s chats with a psychologist. Not sure why we are seeing this or this is being shown. Grey has no hobbies. All she knows is wrestling, etc, etc.
Izzi Dame admits to Stone that she decorated Zaria’s locker. She just thought it needed more colour. Dame is in the Battle Royal next week.
Grayson Waller (c) versus ??? – Open Challenge for the NXT Championship
I like this segment a lot. It is different and fun. We see a ton of talent fighting their way to get out to the ring and into the ring first. The brawl spills out into the arena. Zilla pushes his way though everyone. Cruz Montana meets up with them. They have a stare down.
Zilla slides part way into the ring. Cruz pulls him back out. Cruz slides in. Zilla pulls him out.
BirthRight and DarkState jump the barricade taking them both out. They begin fighting.
While everyone is watching that mess, EK Prosper slips into the ring from the other side.
Prosper super kicks and tornado DDTs Waller. Waller kicks out of a Michinoku Driver.
Let’s go EK! Let’s go EK!
Waller leaps up stomping EK’s head into the mat for two. Prosper gets shoved out to the ring and lands on the floor. Waller runs, slides out of the ring giving EK a clothesline that turns him inside out.
Waller lays out Prosper on the announce table. He climbs up to the top rope. Prosper pulls him down. Prosper bounces off the second rope and splashes Waller though the table. Waller puts his foot on the ropes to avoid a pin after Prosper hits a Rough Rider from the top rope.
Waller rolls out to the apron. He catches Prosper with a knee as he tries to dive through. Waller rolls back into the ring for a stunner. He hits Prosper with another stunner for the win.
Winner: …and still NXT Champion, Grayson Waller.
Zilla is fighting mad backstage. He blames The BirthRight for him not winning the championship tonight.
“So, next week, Lexis King, I am going to f–k you up!” he says as we fade to black.
