More tag teams are looking to pursue The Crockett Cup in the National Wrestling Alliance, and chief among them are last year’s winners, The Southern Six. They will face off against The Holy Grail of EC3 and Pretty Boy Smooth, and their chances of repeating this year could be slim.

NWA World Women’s Tag Team Championship: TVMA (Tiffany Nieves and Valentina Rossi) (c) (with Miss Starr) vs.The Island Twins (Ta’ahine Tonga and Tala-vou Tonga)
The Twins are more prominent on WoW, and this is another example of the synergy in the women’s division and the Roku Channel.
Ta’ahine and Rossi start, and she soon realizes she bit more than she can chew. Nieves comes in, and she fares no better, and then she powders out, and TVMA and Miss Starr discuss strategy. Tala-vou soon finds herself amidst shenanigans, and TVMA isolates her in the corner. They cut the ring in half, and she is an Islander in Peril.
Tala-vou manages to get with a Samoan drop out of desperation, and she crawls to the corner. A hot tag to Ta’ahine, and she is a Tongan ‘i He Afi (that’s “En Fuego” for those who don’t speak Tongan). Nieves attempts with a crossbody but gets caught. She rakes her eyes, and Ta’Ahine eats de-feet, and TVMA retain.

Meanwhile, Mims enters Uncle Thrill’s Watering Hole (and already this feels like a dirty joke waiting to happen), when Mason comes out. He discusses how the NWA National Championship is a rocket to the top. Mason says he’ll be the next champ, but Mims says he needs to slow his roll. Crockett Cup Quarterfinal Match: The Immortals (Kratos and Odinson)(#4) vs. The Slimeballz (Sage Chantz and Tommy Rant)(#12)
Galli tells us that The Slimeballz are the bracket busters in the Crockett Cup, after earning the upset win last week. Philly lays out the green streamers for Chantz and Rant a la Ring of Honor, and that’s the last time that’ll happen for those two as out come the runners up of The Crockett Cup 2024, The Immortals.
Odinson towers over Chantz. He offers a hand, and he spits in it. As Odinson gets ready to smack the taste out of him, the ref comes in between the men, and Chantz says he wants the big man, and Kratos obliges. A slap to his face, and the fans chant, “You F***ed Up!”, and boy does Chantz soon realize his folly.

Author’s Note: I dislike ads that interrupt the action with no purpose. In this case, there is some purpose as we see Carson Drake plead his case to the NWA Territories President, Joe Cazana, to reclaim his Television championship that he lost to Bryan Idol. Cazana says he’s got some stroke, and they’ll do it by the book.)

Now The Immortals work over the other half of The SlimeBallz as Odinson tackles in the corner, but misses the second one. The SlimeBallz take advantage and nail the Goo Grenade (an assisted cannonball in the corner) for a two count. Odinson lands a Pounce, as Kratos nails Chantz with a knee lift, and The Immortals deliver Immortality with an easy three count.

Erstwhile, Kenzie Paige, Hunter, Tyler Franks, and Tommy Henry are at Uncle Thrill’s bar, and Kenzie is sniping at her fiancé over his involvement last week in Kylie’s match. Mayhap there is trouble in paradise?
Kyle Davis comes into the ring to interview the Southern Six, and Morton is feeling that they will be two-time winners of the Crockett Cup.
Mason acknowledges “Thrilladelphia” and says, unlike the Eagles, they will three-peat, and how he is not a dead man after saying that is beyond me. But ultimately, Mason ends the segment by telling Davis that, “When you’re hot, you’re hot, and when you’re not…” and Davis is left hanging…again.

Crockett Cup Quarterfinal Match: Holy Grail (EC3 and Pretty Boy Smooth, with Pastor C-Lo)(#9) vs. The Southern Six (Kerry Morton and Alex Taylor)(#4)
The Six jump EC3 and Smooth as they cross the ropes and work the Overlord.
He gets out with a double clothesline and makes Morton pay for his transgression. Tag to Smooth, and he throws around Morton like a ragdoll. Back to EC3, and he gets the Thesz Press. He takes control, but Morton sends him into Taylor’s knee on the outside, which stuns him. Morton lands with a knee drop and an enzugiri rocks the Overlord, and the Six with a double springboard suplex for two, and then…
Ads ( and we get Wrecking Ball Legursky saying that his former tag partner, Jay Bradley, is in trouble as he will face him in a Chain Match. As he hits his new catchphrase, “All will fall to the Wrecking Ball,” Bradley attacks with a chain and lays him out. Can’t wait to see that match.)
We come back as EC3 is in Peril, even though it’s just by One Percent. The Six set EC3 up top for a double superplex, and he fights his way out, pushing Morton and Taylor off, and then he launches with a crossbody to both men.
A hot tag to Smooth, and The Urban Playboy is En Fuego and gets a leg drop to Taylor and covers, but Morton stops the count.
Taloyr and Morton take control, and they go for the Six Speed finisher, but C-Lo stops the momentum from Taylor by grabbing his leg from the outside. After a brief moment of chaos, EC3 delivers the One Percenter and covers Taylor for one, two, and three.
