The Looks that Kill versus the Long Island Landmine in the main event
The National Wrestling Alliance kicks off its NWA 77 signature live event, highlighting the legacy and tradition the brand has offered. There will be title matches, a four-way tag team elimination tournament, and Da Pope is here to address the fans. But the Long Island fans will see their own in Bryan Idol and Joe Ocasio in the Main event, as The Long Island Landmine challenges The Looks That Kill for the NWA Television title.
We come to you from The Paramount in Huntington, NY. Joe Galli and Danny Dealz have the call and we start with your First Match of the Night for the…

NWA World Junior Heavyweight Championship: Alex Taylor(c) vs. Rich Swann
Galli informs us that Taylor has held the singles title for over 400 days, leading Dealz to opine that he could overtake the record set by Danny Hodge, which is a high bar.
Swann and Taylor circle, and he shoves the newcomer into the corner, showing why he’s Too Hot to Trot. Swann is no slouch and has some moves of his own. Taylor is not happy and sends him out of the ring with a forearm. As he gives chase, Swann quickly gets back in the ring and makes him eat a somersault senton, followed by a springboard seated senton as the fans cheer for “Mr. All Night Long.” Back in the ring, Taylor dumps out Swann and flies with his own tope suicida to the outside. He slows the tempo on the high flyer as he whips him to the turnbuckles and turns him inside out. A spinning backbreaker gets Taylor a two count.
He traps Swann in a scissored armbar crossface until he gets a foot on the ropes to break the submission hold. He rushes at Swann, making him eat his boots, and follows with a forward rolling clothesline. Swann with a step-up mule kick to Taylor’s face, and he goes up and misses the Swanton as Taylor rolls out of the way. A turnbuckle suplex and Taylor covers for a count of two. He whips him to the ropes and Swann counters with a springboard cutter and a frog splash, but only gets a near fall. He lands the Phoenix splash, but Taylor breaks the count with a finger to the ropes. He sends Swann over the top rope again, but he lands on the apron and gives a kick to his face. As he gets back in, Taylor crotches him on the middle ropes and wins with the Green Whistle.
Your Winner via Pinfall, And Still NWA Junior Heavyweight Champion: Alex Taylor
Once again, gold stays in The Southern Six
The Colóns are back after a sabbatical from the Crockett Cup. While they came up short, Epico and Primo cut a promo to let the fans know they are focused on being the number one contender for the tag titles in the four-way tournament later tonight.
Mike Mondo tells/yells at Big Strong Mims that he doesn’t know what he’s getting into. He’s in beast mode 24/7, and Mondo warns that once he crosses the ropes, he’ll step in to face a wrestling machine. He promises he’ll take the NWA National Championship because it’s his time and it’s Gut Check Time.
Aron Stevens and Carson Drake are up, and Stevens says they will face The Holy Grail next week on NWA POWERRR. Stevens points out that he is no longer a wrestler, as he is now a manager, but he can still do some damage when the time comes. That brings out The Slimeballz to offer their services and take care of the powerhouse of The Holy Grail, Pretty Boy Smooth. They’ll work for carbs, and Stevens offers them cookies if they go away, and they happily head in that direction. Stevens turns to Drake and asks why he keeps them around. Drake shrugs and replies, “They’re like dogs.”
I mean…that’s probably the best description we’re gonna get anyway.
Now let’s head back to the squared circle, as this is the…

Four Way Tag Team Elimination Match: Blunt Force Trauma (Carnage and Damage, with Aron Stevens) vs. The Colóns (Primo and Epico) vs. The SlimeBallz (Sage Chantz and Tommy Rant) vs. Nightmare Syn (Zyon and The Man Called Frank, with Austin Idol)
The match is to determine who will be next in line to face the NWA World Tag Team champions. Each team has a stake, and interestingly, this is the first time we’re seeing BFT since their early loss to The Slimeballz in The Crockett Cup.
Speaking of which, there is a “Slime Pit” with fans throwing out green streamers for Rant and Chantz. Go figure!
Frank and Chantz start, and the smaller Slimeball wants no part of him as he tries to get a quick tag to The Colóns, who promptly duck out of the way. He evades Frank again and tags in Damage, and now the Blunt Force Trauma member is the legal man. Once in the ring, Frank pushes him to Zyon, and they double-team Damage in the corner. Carnage comes out for the save, but the ref sends him back, while Austin Idol inflicts more pain on the masked man. As Zyon runs the ropes, he gets tripped up by Stevens on the outside, and that allows Damage to get the roll up with a handful of tights to eliminate Nightmare Syn from the match.
We return from a brief commercial and learn that Idol was unhappy with Stevens’s interference, so he gets his loaded white glove ready to go. He swings…and clocks Damage cold. The Slimeballz take the opportunity and pin him to eliminate Blunt Force Trauma. It appears Stevens has switched alliances, and I doubt Carnage and Damage will take that lying down.
Now is the Colóns and The Slimeballz, and neither Primo nor Epico can figure out Chantz and Rant. Rant spits in Primo’s eyes, and he gives him a receipt with a clothesline. A backdrop by Rant, and he gets a two count. The Slimeballz double team, but Primo manages to get out of trouble with a knee to the gut, and he tags in Epico. He’s having trouble countering Chantz, but manages a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker. The Colóns take apart Chantz, and he is a Slimeball in Peril, but won’t give up. Epico props him on the top rope, and Chantz bites him. Incensed, he slams him to the mat and goes for a high-risk maneuver, but ends up eating Slimeball feet. He crawls to this corner and then gets the hot tag to Rant, and he is a Slimeball en Fuego. A tag to Chantz, and Rant assists with the Snot Rocket finisher that finds the mark. Chantz covers for the pin, and Primo tackles to break the count. Rant sends Primo out, and Stevens loads the glove once again. As Chantz shoots Epico to the Manager of champions, he reverses, and The Slimeball runs into Stevens to knock him out of the squared circle. While he is distraught by what he did, Epico delivers the straight jacket backstabber on Chantz, and they are…
Your Winners and New Number One Contenders: The Colóns
Thom Latimer talks about his last match on NWA Powerrr, facing El Dragón Nihan for the Ten Pounds of Gold. Naturally, he squared up and slayed El Dragon to still be the NWA World Heavyweight Champion. Now heading into NWA 77, he expects “Thrillbilly” Silas Mason to bring it and to back up his actions.
Now joining in the ring with Kyle Davis is Da Pope, and he addresses his flock, so let’s have him speak:
“Textile Kyle: What an honor it is right now for Pope to be a part of this historic event, and what an honor at NWA 77 it is for
Pope to here in the middle of this ring at The Paramount in Huntington, New York.Unfortunately, due to a couple of injuries that Pope sustained at the hands of Mike Mondo and his young boy, Slade, I have not been cleared to compete here tonight.
Oh, but as the old proverbs go, ‘A foolish man operates blindly, but a wise man give thoughts to his steps.’ Mondo. Slade. The Pope ain’t forgotten about what you did, and I want to let you know that in Pope’s own time, in Pope’s own way, I’m going to deal with that. But speaking of young boys…Mims. Pope ain’t done with you yet, daddy, and when I am, you’re going to be nothing more than a speed bump, if you will, on Pope’s road to his final destination. And I want to be clear, make no mistake about it, Pope is here to claim his destiny, and that is the NWA World Heavyweight Championship.”
Joe Galli is at the Paige household with Tommy Henry and NWA Women’s Champion, Kenzie Paige. He asks them what’s been going on between the NWA territories, Joe Cazana Productions, and their own Kross Fire Wrestling. Henry says this is not a feud or rivalry, but a war between two families. Kenzie adds that since becoming the NWA territories president, Joe Cazana has abused his power. Galli mentions her match against Natalia Markova for The Burke, and she feels ready to take her on. Meanwhile, in the background, Hunter and Kylie Paige are lounging by the pool a little closer than normal. Galli sees this, and as Henry and Kenzie turn to see what he’s looking at, Kenzie flips out and goes to the pool to read them the riot act. Henry tries to calm her daughter down, but Kenzie wonders who she can trust.
That will be a drama left for another time.
For now, we head to the squared circle for your Main Event, and it is for the…
NWA World Television championship: Bryan Idol(c) vs. Joe Ocasio
The fans are showing lots of love for the Long Island natives. Two things of note: Ocasio has a knee brace, so his mobility might be a factor. Idol is coming off a successful title defense, and there is still no 6:05 time limit because, as Galli mentions, he wants the wins and losses to be on his own merits.
The bell rings, and Idol looks to have the upper hand, but Ocasio is no slouch and shoulder tackles the champ. Idol comes back with a running knee to a slam and covers for a two count. Ocasio demonstrates why he is the Long Island Landmine with a clothesline in the corner, focusing on Idol’s collarbone area, which was recently injured. He attempts a sharpshooter, and the champ gets out before the hold can be applied, and now Idol goes for a leg submission, and Ocasio powers out. A flash knee strike by Ocasio, but Idol counters with a neckbreaker to the knee for a near fall. He goes for the Killswitch finisher, and it is countered as Ocasio picks him up and nails him with a nasty Alabama slam to the center of the mat. He sends him out, and Idol dives with a spear as the action spills to the floor, which leads to…
(Ads. Normally, I hate when they place it in the middle of a match, but this serves a purpose. We get Pastor C-Lo, EC3, and Pretty Boy Smooth cutting a promo on how they will teach a lesson to Aron Stevens and Carson Drake. Plus, “La Princesa” Tiffany Nieves has found a “fan” in Gretta that she feels could be instrumental in her title aspirations.)
Back to the action, Idol throws Ocasio back in the ring for a cover of two, and the Long Island Landmine Back drops Idol. Ocasio backs up and nails him with a running head butt called a Warhead, but it’s still a near fall. They both slug it out until Idol connects with a roundhouse kick and a BME, but still can’t put him away. They jockey for position, and it’s the Looks That Kill who delivers the spinning Killswitch for the one, two, and three.
Your Winner, And Still NWA World Television Champion: Bryan Idol
Idol is on a winning streak as the show draws to a close for this first part of NWA 77.
