Welcome fellow MLW fans, to Slaughterhouse!
I have to say this before I forget, when I saw Tom Lawlor, I thought he was dressed as a pumpkin rather than Fred Flintstone from The Flintstones. Ha! I laughed even harder when he said: “Yaba daba doo!”
Matthew Justice vs. The Andersons vs. Mr. Thomas vs. Chris Adonis vs. Mads Krugger (c) – Chamber of Horrors MLW Heavyweight Championship match
The moment Matthew threw a chair at Krugger’s face, everyone else saw that as the signal to jump him all at once near the electric chair. What?? I’ve never seen a Chamber of Horrors before, so this is new to me. What’s not surprising though, is that Mads was able to defend himself with ease against the entire playing field. While the others were catching their breaths, the Anderson tried their luck going 2-on-1, but they failed miserably and hilariously.
Mr. Thomas might have avoided a powerbomb attempt, but he was shoved into a well-placed table in the corner and stayed there like he had a choice. Justice came out of nowhere and speared the champ, then proceeded to hit Krugger with a chair to the temple. It hardly effected the big man. At some point, CW and Brock wanted a piece of Krugger, but Mr. Thomas body splashed all their asses.
Despite the blood leaking from Krugger’s head, he still helped himself by bulldozing Mr. Thomas and Justice at the same time from the corner of the ring. It was nasty to look at that bright red spot. You can’t avoid it no matter how hard you try. Madness was already overflowing the stage like crazy. Everyone was depleted of energy.
Adonis forced Mr. Thomas into a choke lock and directed him to the electric chair. Thomas had enough fight in him to stop that from taking place, Justice made sure of that for his own gain when he delivered a springboard clothesline. Krugger and Justice were the only ones bleeding… for now. While trying to save Brock, CW inadvertently got caught by Mads and electrocuted. I didn’t know that would cause the end of the match in favor of the current Champion… wow.
I’m confused.
Winner: Mads Krugger
Tonight is the debuting addition of Shotzi’s Graveyard Shift as she welcomed to the stage the World Tag Team Champions, The Skyscrapers, Donovan Dijak and Bishop Dyer. Just as Shotzi was asking the champs about Alex Hammerstone’s involvement, CONTRA Unit attacked them from the shadows. Krugger heard his name and pounced as Shotzi scurried. Ha! To sweat this off, Shotzi shared a drink with Don Gato… well, she was about to when Ikuro Kwon showed up to issue a match for this evening. Gato was ready for him with some brace-knuckles.
Things take a unsuspecting turn when Pricilla Kelly also known as Gigi Dolan at NXT and WWE, returned to MLW to call Shotzi a “broad parasite” for showing up and expecting the royal treatment. Not like the movie, ha! Anyway, Kelly was pissed. However, I was mostly paying attention to the fact that the camera lens made her look like she was in a fish bowl. What the hell is going? It was unnervingly odd. She still looks great, though, and challenged Shotzi to a match on November 20 as her first act of arson.
The host of CMLL, Julio Cesar Rivera, presented the following Opera Cup Quarter-Finals match.
Star Jr. vs. Volador Jr. – Opera Cup Quarter-Finals match
After a couple of tussling moves, Volador Jr. was on top at the beginning of the match. Star made a comeback with an impressive, but unbalanced suicide dive. A cheap shot from one of Volador’s friends was acknowledged but no further actions were taken. While the referee was distracted, Star was getting beaten up from the sidelines.
Star was showing some life with a couple of chops to Volador’s chest, then a swinging neck breakker and Senton that resulted in a near fall. On the other hand, Volador amazed me with a sudden Code Red on his opponent. Star did score big with a Hurricane Rana that he kept complaining that it was, indeed, a three count. Back and forth Super Kicks laid both men out. Since that didn’t work, Volador won the match with the Destroyer Star’s head to advance.
Winner: Volador Jr.
Bishop Dyer vs. Satoshi Kojima – Opera Cup Quarter-Finals match
As these matches seem to go with Kojima’s presence, he kept taking multiple hits from Dyer as you see that exhausts and angered him. Regardless, Dyer was the one on top of things, while Satoshi was gasping for air. A lariat takedown from Bishop floored Kojima real quick. Bishop even tried to suffocate Kojima by pressing his knee on his throat and closed his mouth, too. It felt a little too familiar…
It’s been all Dyer the majority of the match until Kojima regained his strength to fight back with those claw-like chops to the chest. He waited for the right moment to reverse on Dyer and take control. That body splash from the top came close to a three count. Kojima tried to issue the Cozy Cutter, but Dyer blocked him and delivered a Death Valley Driver. Later on, Dyer was hoping to strike Kojima with his own finishing move, but Satoshi beat him to it… Sadly, Bishop kicked out at one. So, Satoshi ventured for the second time and succeeded.
Kojima advanced as Volador Jr.’s opponent in the Semi-Finals. Meanwhile backstage, Dijak and Krugger were seen fighting again.
Winner: Satoshi Kojima
Austin Aries vs. Paul London – Opera Cup Quarter-Finals match
Aries almost looked like he didn’t care about his challenger that he treated it like a joke to be in the same ring. London made him pay with a fast takedown, then a couple of slaps to the back of Austin’s head like Paddy-Cake. Aries made a comeback with a sudden drop kick to Paul’s chest when he thought he had Austin trapped by the neck.
London took over after that kick and clothesline off the apron. Austin was aiming for London’s face, but he ducked, resulting in Aries slamming his hand against the post. A beautiful Super Kick from Paul was well executed, but insufficient. So, he attempted to perform the Texas Cloverleaf, yet Aries had his fingers in his eyes. Later on, it gave him the opening to deliver a clothesline.
Just as Paul was reeling from the attacks, he managed to get his knees up to prevent Austin from perfectly landing a Senton. He then tossed Aries over the ropes and onto the floor. London was on a roll, that pissed Aries, so he shoved Paul off the top as he landed badly. He had 20 seconds to get back inside the ring, yet Austin made sure he didn’t with a suicide dive.
Austin allowed himself to get distracted by Paul Walter Hauser at commentary that London kicked him in the gut. That may have happened, but it was Aries who got the wind on his side when pushed London into Hauser. Aries moved quickly with that brain buster to win. Following the fight, London viciously shoved Hauser for his lost. That encouraged Hauser to make an ultimatum: either they go they’re separate ways, or they beat it into each other.
Winner: Austin Aries
EXCITING NEWS Killer Kross will soon make his debut at MLW.
Matt Riddle vs. Alex Hammerstone
Hammerstone was fed up last time I saw him when he said very clearly that he didn’t care, nor asked for this match. He wants a title opportunity. While we wait, he’s here tossing Riddle around the ring with no difficulty. Matt tried to choke out Hammerstone from the back, yet he was rammed into the turnbuckles, then flung off the second time.
Riddle was looking for a leg choke triangle maneuver, but Alex got out of there. Riddle delivered a kick, then a knee strike, and Hammerstone was still on his feet. Hammerstone always had a response to Riddle’s assaults. One of them was that he almost threw Matt over the ropes just to prove a point. Alas, Matt escaped that, but not the upcoming pain he endured.
Admirable from Riddle to fight back the best he can, unfortunately for him, Hammerstone was too strong with that belly-to-belly suplex. Despite Alex not wanting to partake in this fight, they’re still entertaining to watch together because they’re determined not to lose, and their endurance is beautiful.
Hammerstone was looking Nightmare Pendulum, Mads Krugger stomped his way to the ring and manhandled him. Dijak soon arrived, too, with a chair in tow. During all this madness, the referee was out cold. It’s only after Riddle delivered a low-blow to Hammerstone’s crutch that the official was conscious enough to make the three count.
Winner: Matt Riddle
Shoko Nakajima (c) vs. Himawari – World Featherweight Championship match
Nakajima was amazing to watch as she collided with Himawari being one step ahead of her. That roll up attempt didn’t pay off as Shoko escaped the threat and delivered a spinning elbow drop to the chest. As payback, Himawari used her hair as a weapon like Bianca Belair does to strike the champ in the abdomen multiple times. Hima continued with a face plant, then proceeded to utilize the half Boston crab that Shoko found relief by grabbing the bottom rope.
After suffering another whip from Himawari’s hair, Nakajima retaliated with a drop kick. The champ succeeded with a running clothesline, then a Hurricane Rana off the springboard. She was doing great until Himawari kicked out and choked her using her hair braid. She kept doing that later on as they roamed over on the main floor.
Shoko made a return by dodging whatever Himawari had planed, kicked her in the back of the head, then performed a massive suicide dive that truly squashed Hima under the Big Kaiju’s body. Just barely did Himawari lifted her shoulder. It wasn’t the end for her, though, Hima shocked the champ by staying alive as she delivered a powerbomb.
Although Himawari fought like a brilliant warrior, Shoko’s DDT and big Senton finished her well.
Winner: Shoko Nakajima
Mistico vs. Ultimo Guerrero – Opera Cup Quarter-Finals match
Right off the bat, Guerrero went after Mistico on the main floor. Shoulder to the post, face to the guardrailing, spine all in disarray. Luckily, that didn’t stop him from fighting Ultimo once he rolled into the ring. Outside again, Ultimo caught Mistico mid-air, then powerbombed him on the floor. Mistico hasn’t moved and has been fumbling since. The fans weren’t pleased with Ultimo wanting to win this by count out.
Mistico retaliated with an arm drag and a suicide dive that rendered Ultimo still for some time. Those two kicks to the side of Guerrero’s head were effective, but he didn’t count on his challenger to reverse the tide when needed. He brutally face planted Mistico to the mat.
Most of this collision was Mistico on the receiving end of Ultimo’s rampage, but by preserving his energy, Mistico was triumphant in performing La Mistica to advance as Austin Aries’ opponent in the Finals. Ultimo tapped out. Regrettably for Mistico, Aries was watching. He came out to assert his presence with a brain buster to the winner.
Winner: Mistico
